- I am a chemical oceanographer interested in the interaction of chemical cycles with biological production in the ocea... moreI am a chemical oceanographer interested in the interaction of chemical cycles with biological production in the ocean, on a range of spatial scales from estuaries to the open ocean, and a range of temporal scales, from glacial-interglacial variations to predictions of future changes. Currently my research focuses on trace metal biogeochemistry, particularly in coastal regions, and on paleoceanography, particularly the application of chemical proxies to reconstruct past biological productivity. I am also very interested in the application of autonomous sensors in biogeochemical research. My research involves a happy blend of ocean voyages, laboratory analyses, and computer based analysis.edit
