Flexibility characteristic is one of these new add. There are many types of flexibility according to the level of use. Interior design environment for small spaces is a new generation of interior design strategy. The idea of how willing to live within the limited space is an important problem faced by most of the users in how to furnish it to achieve uses economical, functional, and aesthetic needs. Identifying the role of interior design strategies is important for addressing those needs. There are important elements of design have special contribute to the optimal exploitation of compact interior space to reach users' needs. The main elements of design can be used to achieve human needs are flexibility and simplicity as a main mechanism to generate interior space, in order to achieve the requirements of function and design to be adapted successfully to the modern requirements of users. Interior space is an assemblage for symbols shapes, which address the users' minds to realize the real identity of the places as macro levels. Quantitiative methodology was used geometric analysis and variables. the Focusing on related studies shows main variables, were identified to design a measurement table. These variable considered the main lines to interior design by simplicity way. In the methodology part, After making a geometric analysis of selected samples from the shopping street as a case study, matching processes were done by the variable table (check list) to check the value of matching between simplicity variable and simplicity design. Re-shaped process will be done for the same sample, by modelling and abstracted the main shapes and make the questioner for normal users of retail space to measure the value of editing the original shape by aesthetic and originality values.

Therefore, coffee shops considered a necessary thirdspace in the heritage area of Georgetown- Penang. Thirdspace, where users created their own space to communicate, socialise, and exchange the cultural behaviours. Georgetown's coffee shops worldwide known as active place that represents the identity of the unique mix-culture. Nowadays, although the variety of interior design styles, these places attracting millions of visitors every years. Therefore, what are the common features of these coffee shops that activate the urban environment, which affects the perception, expression and memory process of the visitors. The aim of the current paper is to draw out the genetic code of the geometrical characteristics. Qualitative and quantitative methodology used for the research design depending on observation, visual analysis and checklist methods to measure the samples of contemporary coffee shops that located in heritage shophouse. These samples selected according to purposeful random sampling. Physical environment elements considered as a main factor, to analysis and observe the 30 cases. The results show that physical environment elements of these coffee shops matched by 75.56%. This matching creates affected the perception, expression, and memory, which create adaptive feelings for the different kind of the visitors

Simple space does not mean scanty design, conversely, simple design in the heritage area consists profound meanings and reflects the original aesthetic value of that space. The design of shophouse as a formation is simple raw building, contained three to four main zones. While, the interior space of shophouse reflects the value of community and rich culture by using simplicity as a factor to present the complex feelings and meanings in one place. Georgetown is the capital city of Penang, Malaysia, which populated by a harmonized mixture of communities, this mix-culture affects the architecture and interior style of the city. As a result, eclectic architecture style created and become an icon of Georgetown. Therefore, it's listed as a World Heritage City in 2008 by UNESCO. The current research is to clarify the relationship between simplicity and aesthetic in the interior design of heritage buildings. Thus, the study is a qualitative mode, including structured interview, the responders were the users, owners and staff of coffee shops in heritage shophouse. As well as, observation, behavioural mapping is used to collect the data for the surfaces and users' reaction. Aesthetic value does not depend on the complex design, high quality material and form. Good places should be simply understood by the high familiarity value. Additionally, shaped great space should have harmonized value between users' needs and identity of that space.
