Palamas’ treatise entitled Περί θείας ενώσεως και διακρίσεως, our main goal is to examine the objective existence of the divine energies and their relation to the divine essence. The Christian interpretation of the theory on unions and distinctions proves that these are just two different ways of existence, without any ontological difference between each other, as Barlaam and Akindynos suggested. It is remarkable that the understanding of Gr. Palamas’ thought allows us to conclude that he is a consistent researcher, who, on the one hand, follows unchanged philosophical foundations for expressing his theories and, on the other hand, corresponds with the previous Christian tradition.

The authors, Christos Ath. Terezis and Lydia Chr. Petridou, concentrate on an era in theological and philosophical hystory that could be described as a time of synthetic achivements, particularly the Byzantine period. During this era, Christianity engaged in a multifaceted dialogue with various streams and Ancient Greek philosophy, predominantly Platonism, Aristotelianism, and Neoplatonism. The first two chapters discuss divine transcendence, the third delves into divine creativity, and the fourth examines these metaphysical states through the lenses of epistemology and formal logic. This thematic structure aligns with the fundamental belief of Eastern Christianity that ontology-encompassing both metaphysics and physics - shapes and informes epistemology.

as a theological but also as a philosophical and broadly cultural formation. Our main responsibility is to show how the ecclesiastical life of
Orthodoxy and its representatives (as also thinkers) build all their theories by constantly referring to the Person of Jesus Christ and everything
included about his life and teaching in the texts of the New Testament. In
this way, our purpose is to prove that the theologians-thinkers of Eastern
Christianity form their rationale relying upon Jesus Christ as both the Son
and Logos of God (transcendence) and incarnated (immanent historicity).
The study consists of five parts, each of which can work as an autonomous investigative-theoretical unit. Nevertheless, all of them aim to show how through Christianity and specifically Eastern the new historical subject is projected, that is to say, a different approach of the historical becoming. This becoming is expressed through the theandricity which Jesus Christ represents and unfolds through the Church, which is directed by the Holy Spirit. The entire process has a teleological-eschatological orientation and refers to the deification of man by grace. It is basically about how through a thorough reading and application of the image of God man will reach, both personally and collectively, the likeness of God. So, our responsibility is to show how an optimistic anthropological and historical model is structured through Christianity.

That is Arethas, Bishop of Caesarea, who played an active part in the life of the Byzantine Empire and was an excellent thinker, philologist and commentator, who lived in the ninth and tenth centuries, a period of particular development in the arts and letters.
Our purpose is to attempt to formulate a theoretical suggestion or certain individual theoretical schemes through a text by Arethas, taking into account his general work as well as his Christian principles. We also shed light on the richness of the reflections to which we can be led by the content of a text when dealt with as a commentary. But this text is also historically important, for it refers to Aristotle. The works of the philosopher from Stageira were of particular interest to Neoplatonists and Christians and their commentaries were of such a scope and quality that they formed an impressive intertemporal tradition, which has proved to have both historical presentational and systematic compositional content.
