Human activities are increasingly based on the use of remote resources and services, and on the interaction between remotely located parties that may know little about each other. Mobile agents must be prepared to execute on different hosts with various environmental security conditions. The aim of this paper is to propose a trust based mechanism to improve the security of

The segmentation of retinal blood vessels by digital color fundus images analysis is crucial for several medical diagnostic systems, such as the diabetic retinopathy early diagnosis. This pathology has been shown to be the most common cause of blindness among working age people in developed countries. Several interesting approaches have been done in segmenting the blood vessels by image processing techniques applied in fundus images, but none of them has shown the required performance to be applied in clinical practices. Therefore, a new approach is proposed based on an agents’ organization enabling vessels detection. This multi-agent approach is preceded by a preprocessing phase in which the fundamental filter is a Kirsch derivative improved version. This first phase allows an environment construction where agents are situated and interact. Then, blood vessel edges detection emerged from agent interaction. According to this study, competitive results as compared with those present ...

ABSTRACT To promote the success of the agent technology the software engineering view-point should be rapidly addressed. This chapter analyses the existing approaches and discusses the future of agent technology from the software engineering view-point. It first highlights the properties of this new concept. It analyses then the existing methods and tools that have been introduced to facilitate the development of MAS. Finally, some promising applications areas are presented and a Roadmap for AOSE is introduced.

Banking and financial system constitute a critical service for our economy. Being able to foreseen real time attacks and failures on financial institutions network is a crucial challenge. In order to face those problems, research tends to elaborate alert mechanisms in order to support risk assessment, analysis and miti- gation solution for real time decision-making processes. Our previous works had

The aim of this paper is to give empirical evidence of the fundamental mechanisms underlying the resource systemics: time compression dis- economies, asset mass efficiency, and interconnectedness of assets. It as- sumes that time, resource properties and interactions are the critical elements leading to accumulation of idiosyncratic resources, firm per- formance and survival. Results from a Cox regression on a simulated dataset confirm the protective effects of time compression diseconomies, asset mass efficiency, and interconnectedness of assets against firm's death.

ABSTRACT form only given. To make concrete the various research in MASs and facilitate the implementation of applications, several agent implementation tools have been proposed. In the present state of research and development, we find contributions on agent architectures, agent languages, agent development environments and agent-base simulation tools. The challenge for these tools is to provide the specific characteristics of MAS such as openness, heterogeneity, distribution and scalability. The aim of this tutorial is to present two multi-agent development environments: DIMAX and JADE.

Fingerprint matching is one of the most important problems in an Automatic Fingerprint Identification System. The Fingerprint matching is a high computational task, repetitive and arduous. Moreover, fingerprint databases are by nature large scale. Indeed, there is a need for flexible and independent solution for automatic distribution of fingerprint matching. So, this paper introduces an agent-based distributed matching system. The
