This article is historically anchored on observations and a review of literature on police corruption, and simultaneously examines the factors influencing police corruption with two objectives; to explore and describe what constitute corruption within the police force, and to make recommendation on what could be possibly done by Nigerian government to checkmate this phenomenon that has eating deep into the fabric of the Nigeria Police Force.

This exploratory study was designed to examine the followers’ perception of transformational leadership. The authors contended that a policy meant to stimulate employees sometimes dampens their morale instead and the leadership is at a loss to what to do next. We argued that many organizational leaders, to the followers’ chagrin, never bother about feedback from their employees rather they delight in feedback from customers and clients. In essence, they operate with the syndrome and mentality: “the boss is always right”. Using structured interview and questionnaire, data was collected from 10 police leaders and 54 of their subordinates. Result revealed that organizational leaders cannot be too charismatic without essentially being individually considerate at the expense of intellectually stimulating their subordinates. For the followers to respond sufficiently to charisma, opportunity must be given them to be fully involved in the organization and also be allowed to operate within r...

This study examines factors stimulating women to choose entrepreneurship as their career. The main hypotheses are personality and cultural factors directly related intention in choosing entrepreneurship as a career. Respondents are 170 women entrepreneurs in district of Kinta, Perak. A structured 47 closed ended items questionnaires are used to collect data. This study uses quantitative method such as correlation analysis and multiple regressions to test the variables. The result shows that women’s personality correlated weakly with cultural factor. However the study strongly shows that women entrepreneurs’ career choice of entrepreneurship is significantly influenced by cultural factor rather than personality factor. This study finding can be used by various parties including private entities, department of service management, Human Resources Management Division (HRMD), Ministry of Human Resources and other government agencies.

Numerous studies have analyzed the criteria for choosing Islamic banks, but in mainstream publications no analysis has been undertaken in the area of investment decision making on Islamic bonds. This study examines the influence of socioeconomic characteristics on dealers' risk attitude and analyses the criteria for Islamic bond selection. The overall sample consists of 54 Islamic bond dealers in Kuala Lumpur Financial District. The questionnaire survey was conducted between 1 July and 30 August 2002. Both the lob linear and factor analysis are employed as statistical procedures. None of the three-way and two-way interactions of loglinear model can sufficiently explain the relationship between risk perceptions and dealers' characteristics. These results confirm that the main effects of education and occupational status influence the dealers' perception of risk. The evidence on risk ranking indicates that apart from credit risk, liquidity and inflation risks are among the...

Customer knowledge (CK) in Islamic banking services is generally low and this has affected the customers’ perception and their choice criteria. It is important that the initiatives for customer education (CE) to be deliberately strengthened in order to increase the customer knowledge (CK) as well as customer satisfaction (CS). The value created through the customer education (CE) initiatives would help to increase the customer knowledge (CK) in Islamic banking perspective. However, the dimensions that constitute the customer education (CE) need to be identified so that initiative can be implemented on a more focus way. Thus, this conceptual paper will dissect the dimensions that involved in customer education (CE) and how it can benefit to increase the customer knowledge (CK) in Islamic Banking.

Imagination is the ability to form a mental picture, phonological passages, analogies or narratives of something that is not perceived through our senses. Hence, this theoretical study seeks to identify the role of imagination in entrepreneurial innovation and practice. Imagination is marked by the ability to see things from different perspective and as such helps in creating a link in the manifestation of memory that enables entrepreneurs to scrutinize the past, and construct future scenarios. Thus, imagination is a critical variable in foresight that combines hindsight with insight in order to predict or determine critical decisions and organizational outcomes. All innovation begins with creative ideas, but creativity itself is not a sufficient condition for innovation. Innovation is the implantation of creative imagination which is an essential step towards ideation and creative invention. Since invention requires originality, imagination therefore is required in entrepreneurial ...
