Abstract Brazilian modern journalism has suffered a credibility crisis in society. Nowadays, it occurs due to news production with elements of infotainment and the practice of journalism that is accomplished as social activism. Journalism is not getting forced to establish new places of social relevance in its relationship to the audience, the face of the attention economy. The paper analyses the Journalism teaching in Brazil, in the face the difficulties faced, revisiting the journalism-teaching stream built to Juarez Bahia, in the half of twenty century, that realized use of technology as a way to potentialize the journalist work and it was implemented in the journalism teaching in some colleges in Brazil. Juarez Bahia suffered a significant influence from the cybernetic philosophical stream on leadership from Nobert Wiener and Marshal McLuhan. From this perspective, the paper argues about the existence of a Journalism School. This work is denominated of Cybernetic and has a conceptual base to do a structural change in the journalism teaching. It has a concept that considers the technology also as a journalistic structure. Thus, this line could avoid the possibility the journalism disappear from the zone of attention of society.

This experimental project aims to develop an interdisciplinary, theoretical framework and to create applications for mobile phones, configuring an environment of communication (conversation) and
of deliberation on the formation of hyperlocal social intelligence. The geographical space chosen is that of the community of Novo Horizonte (Macapá/AP).
The digital environment pondered aims to allow for residents, journalists, regulars and connoisseurs of the region to supply local digital databases
through a customized mobile device application and/or a website, enabling formation of datasets with structured information about the region. The main objective is the creation of a interconnected public sphere, composed by “collective cohesion” and the community procedure of deliberation.
The establishment of a participative environment through connected communication technologies provides power to the community, affecting local and collaborative decision-making, civic involvement,
co-production and sharing of information in order to solve severe social problems in the region.

This article investigates the evolution of the concept man-machin symbiosis from the seminal paper of J.C.R. Lick-lider " Man-computer symbiosis " , in 1960, to the current days. We will try to analyze how cognitive aspects appear and disappear in this discussion and the current demand of a real cognitive man-machine symbiosis, where all machines have a computer inside. Licklider's work went through epistemological cuts, distinct scientific advances, technological innovations, and new possibilities of relationship between human and computational machines occurred in the last 50 years. On the other hand, both technological and philosophical thinking evolved and contribute sometimes to refrain man-machine symbiosis to finally put it as a next step in the relationship between man and machines. Databases supplied with news produced for the Web represent a repository of information structured with technological potential to be reused in many ways and with other digital platforms connected via networks. However, the recovery dynamics of this material is usually limited to keywords search; moreover, that organization is composed of simple categorizations or just by tags in HTML, not allowing the flexibility of its use in other ways. Based on the observation of vehicles and journalistic products, especially BBC, this paper discusses new tools based on the adoption of controlled vocabularies, formal ontologies and other metadata standards properly structure the recovery of journalistic information inputed into databases. In this way, highlights the importance of journalistic information structured through metadata and extend it aside from its use as a repository, but in achieving " invisible relations " issues and contexts, among other differentiating factors in information quality between media groups.

Journalism suffered a strong technological influence from the Industrial Revolution. Centuries later, another major impact their ways of doing, the introduction of computional machines and telematic networks, which base the computational man-machine relationship, named master-slave by cybernetic philosophy. Another technological aspect to compose the current connected digital information ecosystem, Cognitive Computing, is based on the seminal article of J.C.R. Licklider, Man-computer Symbiosis (1960). The relation between computer-human machine, in this cognitive technological line, is in partnership in the exchange of information in a symmetrical way between two cognitive agents, one biological (human being) and another synthetic (computational machine), that will challenge Journalism to adoption of new types Relationship with the its audience.

"The paper aims to connect various fields of knowledge, including journalism, information sciences, and human cognition. It analyzes Recommendation Systems (RS) on the Web in order to understand how they are changing user-experiences and, consequently, affecting the fundamental structures of journalism. Today’s networks are decentralized with few barriers to entry. They provide new ways of consuming journalistic production, and have altered the system established by broadcasting,
transforming the relationship between audience and informational preferences. New possibilities are emerging that will define how the information emitter provides social relevance to its audience. Relevance is the basis of RS and for the algorithms that, unseen by their audience, operate invisibly and transparently. New information ecosystem is eliminating the dividing line between information emitter and receptor of journalistic information. This represents a unique visualization and availability context that does not differentiate between direct human actions and the actions of computer programmed algorithms."

NEOFLUXO: Journalism, database and the construction of a connected public sphere. The paper aims to reveal the results of researched project research project applied in Conected Social Media Observatory, called Neofluxo. It was approved by the National Council for Scientific and Technological Development (CNPq) and its main objective is to identify the behavior of informational flow in social networks during the majority electoral processs in Brazil, in 2010 and demonstrate the possibility to produce Journalism through the intersection and data visualization using APIs. The project stored more than 20,2 million of mentions of candidates, and keywords defined by the researchers. For this, it was elaborated a specific computer program based on an open source that is able to track entries from Twitter users from keywords, collecting and storing them in the database. The Neofluxo also recorded data from official social networks of candidates Jose Serra, Dilma Rousseff and Marina Silva, in order to identify –by these starting points - the informational flows until they have reached Twitter.

Abstract: The connected social media provide a new space for the
production and distribution of information by professionals of
journalism and network users. However, new professional functions must be incorporated to the processes of news production – the objective is to render productive, in the journalistic sense, the network environment. For doing that, the systems that make possible the insertion, the sharing, the evaluation, the recommendation and the distribution of content must be technologically structured. The professionals of journalism must obtain new abilities in order to make possible the survival of their profession.
Key words: journalism, technology, social networks, social media,

It compares theoretically the decision-making up the production chain of the articles in the mass media (gatekeeping), with computer-mediated systems (social media) that use collaborative filtering, identifying their strengths and inconsistencies.

The paper aims to connect various fields of knowledge, including journalism, information sciences, and human cognition. It analyzes Recommendation Systems (RS) on the Web in order to understand
how they are changing user-experiences and, consequently, affecting the fundamental structures of journalism.
New nformation ecosystem is eliminating the dividing line between information emitter and receptor of journalistic information. This represents a unique visualization and availability context that does not differentiate between direct human actions and the actions of computer programmed algorithms.

The connected social media provide a new space for the
production and distribution of information by professionals of
journalism and network users. However, new professional functions must be incorporated to the processes of news production – the objective is to render productive, in the journalistic sense, the network environment. For doing that, the systems that make possible the insertion, the sharing, the evaluation, the recommendation and the distribution of content must be technologically structured. The professionals of journalism must obtain new abilities in order
to make possible the survival of their profession.

The paper aims to connect the scientific knowledge fields involving journalism, information relevance and, human cognition. Therefore, it uses as an object of analysis the recommendation systems of Web. They are changing the relevance perception of user and, consequentially, affecting the fundamental structures of journalism as agenda setting. In the new media ecosystem appears the possibility of establishing different types of relationship between the journalistic source and audience. One them is molded by the information technology that structure the interconnected public place and it the journalism demonstrates difficulty in establishing its procedures for information relevance.

During the last decades, the model based on the subordinate relationship between man-machines have been influenced by multidisciplinary thinking by a group assembled by Norbert Wiener: Cybernetics. This think-tank thought on the computational systems to help the human being to find, store, retrieve and organize information in order to optimize tasks. In 1960, different from Cybernetics's technological way, J.C.R. Licklider published the seminal paper "Man-computer symbiosis", proposing that man and computer complement each other into a mutual cooperation. The technological vision envisaged by him claimed that human brains and computing machines will be coupled together very tightly, resulting in a partnership. Nowadays, after almost 60 years, this symbiotic vision of partnership between computational machines and the human being is very close to the Cognitive Computing thinking, which creates systems fundamentally to change the way humans and systems interact and significantly extend the capabilities of humans by leveraging their ability to provide expert assistance. In order to investigate the evolution of the concept man-machine symbiosis to the current days, the article analyzes how Licklider's concepts are being updated to new scientific emergent fields, as Cognitive Computing. For that, we used a statistic study of bibliometric citations and clusters of citations has occurred since 1960 using CiteSpace. The research points out that the citations about Licklider's seminal paper started to happen more strongly in 2004 and by LLR (Log-Likelihood Ratio) algorithm was detected clusters that connection with the concepts contained in the paper related to Cognitive Computing and Cognitive Model. In our conclusion, despite the disappearance of Licklider's thoughts due to the strength of the master-slave model proposed and implemented by Cybernetics, new types of cognitive systems are emerging based on the possibility of a real cognitive man-machine symbiosis, a next step in the relationship between man and machines.
