H.-G. Gadamer afferma, in Verità e metodo, che l’immagine è
"un fatto ontologico". Tale ontologia è caratterizzata in senso
pone oltre qualsivoglia concezione mimetica e riduzionista,
verrà verifi cata all’interno dell’opera di Paul Klee.
forze in movimento.

The chapter analyses Jünger's interpretation of myths and symbols in his contributes to the German Journal "Antaios", that was directed by Jünger himself together with the History of Religion Prof. Mircea Eliade.

The theological notion of Apocalypse has fully emerged in the narrative and imagination of the contemporary world. After having clarified the genesis and definition of this concept, and its developing in the eschatological and mythical-symbolic horizon, the essay addresses from a phenomenological point of view its main manifestations in Postmodern culture, between
philosophy, cinema and environmentalism, finding through a morphological-comparative method the main similarities and differences between its different expression with respect to the strictly theological question of Apocalypse.

The paper investigates the authoritative value of symbol, understood as an autonomous mode of knowledge, in relation to the sphere of the political. By reconstructing a mythic-symbolic hermeneutics paradigm able to justify the theoretical relevance of a rediscovery of mythicalsymbolic forms in the process of postmodern understanding of reality, we will identify a pivotal application of this perspective in the domain of the political. In particular, we will recognize the metapolitical discipline, conceived thanks to Alain de Benoist's theory, as a fundamental conceptual tool for framing the sphere of politics from a fruitful perspective, which stands as an alternative in respect to the various and widespread forms of rationalist reductionisms (both from a deconstructionist perspective and in a feasible productive application).

The essay aims to consider the pedagogical proposal that can be found in the texts of the traditionalist Catholic thinker Guido De Giorgio (1890-1957). The focus will be on The problem of the school, that is a posthumous collection of De Giorgio's texts (with some unpublished works): by contextualizing this publication within the huge opus of the author the relevance of his metaphysical approach will be elucidated in order to establish a contemporary theory of education. The particular importance that De Giorgio attributes to the relationship between teacher and student and to the living and spiritual nature of teaching practice itself will also be underlined.

The essay aims to deepen the symbolic and metaphysical core that characterizes the image of divine madness which has been transmitted by the History of Religions. After having introduced through a comparative method the universal feature of the sacred madness and having highlighted its close connection to the topics of wisdom and eros, we will explore the emblematic case of berserkir, the bear-warriors of the Germanic-Scandinavian tradition. In this scenario the focus will be on the role of divinities medium carried out by the warriors, that become a kind of instrument of immanent communication for the transcendental dimension. The conclusion, projected in the current and future postmodern context, will reveal the cultural and theoretical importance of divine madness as an interpretative tool of contemporary times.

Order and Chaos are fundamental and archetypal concepts that allow us to understand and order reality. Thanks to the hermeneutic key which they offer, the paper addresses the relation between the tension towards order and stability and the indistinct and pre-formal original ontological dimension (distinct from disorder) within the study of the philosophy of places. Some more specific declinations of this question will be explored along the trajectory that, starting from sacred geography and Genius loci figure, leads to contemporary disciplines such as geophilosophy and geopolitics.

The main aim of this essay is to investigate the notions of “wall” and “bridge” through an hermeneutic and symbolic-archetypal interpretation of these key figures. By clarifying the plural and multidimensional nature of these figures – that need to be understood not as opposite, but
complementary concepts – the research will apply this renewed exegetical perspective to the contemporary debate. The emblematic case study chosen in order to show the fruitfulness of an “Hermeneutics of the Wall” is the theological and symbolic scenario of contemporary
Catholicism: rethinking the constructive role of the “Wall”, also in this context, will allow to go beyond any reductionist and falsifying perspective.

The topic of concordia discors is deepened in the essay through the discussion of the concept of Transcendent unity of religions, as argued by Frithjof Schuon who coined this expression in his homonymous text (1948), but also referring to other representatives of the so-called Integral Traditionalism or Perennialism (Guénon, Coomaraswamy, etc.). The central thesis of the essay, which will be addressed both on a level of history of ideas (referring to the theoretical and textual sources) and on a level of current affairs (thanks to the emblematic case of Islamic Sufism), can be expressed through the assumption that only by recognizing the metaphysical unity of the different religious traditions – and therefore their common basis of truth – it is possible to establish a fruitful space for an interreligious dialogue that does not become neither syncretism nor lack of real communication because of the denial of the Other.

The aim of my research is to define the religious hermeneutics that can be identified as the specific core of Antaios (1959–71), the German journal directed by the historian of religions Mircea Eliade and by the writer and philosopher Ernst Jünger. Drawing on their insights, we will focus on the philosophical-religious interpretation of Antaios contents: the so-called “mythical-symbolic hermeneutics” is probably the most interesting theoretical theme connected to the Weltanschauung of Antaios. This cultural journal could embody a counter-philosophical perspective that is at the same time intrinsic to Western speculation. This position has repeatedly emerged in many phases of our cultural history. I refer here to mythical-symbolic thought, characterized by an analogical interpretation of the world, whose structure is considered a stratification of truth levels that are complementary ontological levels of reality. This tradition sees reality as a specific kind of totality that allows human perception to take place through the structures of myth and symbols. The theoretical unity of the project is rooted in the mythical-symbolic tradition that, starting from the religious and esoteric pre-philosophical meditations, spans Platonic thought, the various neoplatonisms, passes through medieval mysticism and alchemy, reappears in Romanticism and is revealed in the twentieth century by the reflections of the “thinkers of Tradition.” With this paper I would like to highlight the main topics that can be identified from this hermeneutics: speculations about symbol, myth, coincidentia oppositorum (coincidence of opposites), archetypes, and ontological pluralism. These are at the core of this paradigm.

This article is based on the recognition of two significant and opposite directions in the history of aesthetics, especially regarding the topic “creativity”: the subjectivist, willing, modern paradigm embodied by the figure of Genius and, in contrast, a mythical, symbolical, and imaginative idea of cosmological creativity. The latter worldview will be deepened via an analysis of Martin Heidegger’s theory of Geviert (Fourfold). Heidegger’s conception will here be taken as a clear and fruitful example of how a more symbolic hermeneutics that aspires to overcome modern dualism can be conceived and in turn renew both aesthetics and hermeneutics. In this light, images—correctly understood as symbols—acquire a “bridging” power: creativity becomes the switch from one level to another, and the artist plays with the world just as the world plays with the artist. This correspondence between artist and creation, subject and object, is therefore described not as a rational adequateness between two static elements, but as a constantly dynamic process in which the connection between microcosm and macrocosm is based on the rhythm of Being.

Ernst Jünger in connection to his important reflections on the topic of sacred. Although the topic of luck could seem marginal in the German author’s philosophy, we will show
how it appears hidden through all his analysis. The topics of sacred and luck could be also considered as an interesting correction of the excesses of willing perspective that sometimes occurs in Jünger’s texts. Luck is in fact seen by Jünger as that fruitful dimension in which the individual can reach a contact or relation with the metaphysical overabundance connected to the original world of forms (likewise in Goethe). In fact where man abandons his egoistic subjectivity he can meet the otherness of the world, in connection with the sacred and the cosmic rhythms that lead to the opening of the
ineffable metaphysical mystery. And thus to the revelation of the luck of the individual.
By considering many passages of Jüngerian work and underlining the close link between the notion of luck and the metaphysical implications expressed in At the Wall of Time (1959), we will also propose an hermeneutical pattern in order to understand the conversion of Jünger to Catholicism under the light of the theological problem of Grace (and his bond with the problem of luck).

The main focus of our essay is on Martin Heidegger thoughts on art. We have concentrated our researches on The Origin of the Work of Art and on The Will to Power as Art (in Nietzsche) discovering in the aesthetic speculation of the German philosopher an elective place for a fruitful discussion of nihilism. Our research is based on the assumption that the ontological leading position of art, that has always been understood by Heidegger as the place of truth revealing, can lead to a positive oasis within the era of nihilism. In order to deeply understand this perspective, the comparison with Nietzsche and with the artistic solution against nihilism that he conceived, seemed to us an unavoidable task. This comparison and the analysis of Heideggerian texts prove that the complex hermeneutic of the Meßkirch author identifies art as the most suitable place for the appearance of the event (Ereignis) of the truth of Being. At the same time the precautionary philosophical position of Heidegger does not allow to recognize the specific modes that make possible to overcome nihilism. The background of Heideggerian theory always requires existential openness and availability to the “piety of thinking” and to the appearance of God.

The famous philosopher Friedrich Nietzsche (1844-1900) and the brilliant Russian painter Nicholas Roerich (1874-1947) have broadly reflected on the
topic of the mountain, conceived by them as a symbolical and hermeneutical figure. Roerich’s pictorial opus magnum is for the most part devoted to the representation of Asian mountains nature as long as Nietzsche’s poetical and philosophical perspective passes through the mountains, especially Alps, understanding them as pivotal figures of a philosophical thought. The essay will underline the “poetics of the mountains” in Nietzsche’s and Roerich’s work, showing that mountain represents the symbolical answer to the philosophical research of Nietzsche and to the artistic and metaphysical quest of Roerich.

This essay is the afterword to Roberto Cecchetti's "Il ritmo del desiderio. Da Jung alle pratiche filosofiche (with preface by Massimo Donà, Mimesis, Milano-Udine 2019). It analyses the main theoretical points of Cecchetti's reflections, underlining the connections between the mythic-symbolic hermeneutical perspective and his attempt to renewal philosophical practices thanks to Jung's intuitions and traditionalist paradigm.
The essay reflects on the main theoretical trajectory of Roberto Melchionda's philosophy, defining it as "Italic Genius loci" and recollecting it from his original sources (Evola, Gentile, and others).
The essay discusses the topic of "Genius loci" and the metaphysical aesthetics of the mountains in Nicholas Roerich philosophical and artistic opus.
The essay presents some theoretical reflections around the nietzschean concept of "Treue zur Erde" in its methapysical and political reflections into Martin Heidegger's, Ernst Jünger's, Carl Schmitt's and Julius Evola's thought.

The research intends to investigate the essay Schopenhauer as educator, by Friedrich Nietzsche, through two main hermeneutical trajectories, in order to respectively: research the pedagogical essence attributed by Nietzsche to Schopenhauer and, at the same time, recognize the ideas of the Röcken philosopher towards the development of an original philosophy of education. By contextualizing the Third Untimely Consideration within Nietzsche’s work, the connections between Schopenhauer as an Educator and the most broadly studied – at least in the pedagogical field – The Future of our Educational Institutions will be shown, as well as the most significant Nietzschean reflections for contemporary pedagogy will be underlined.

With this radical title we would like to establish a brief itinerary in the history of Western philosophy, showing how from a strict philosophical and theoretical perspective
all images have to be considered political because of their ontological and relational nature.
Beginning with Plato’s famous critique of images (mimesis mimeseos), we’ll try to explain that both history of arts and philosophical reflection constantly pointed out that images, in their symbolical structure, have a strong political implication. This topic will be considered in referral to the political and social influence that images exercise, especially in our postmodern and digital 2.0 society;
the main focus will however always be purely theoretical: images have a political nature depending on their ontological structure. This thesis proceeds from the etymology of the Greek world politics (politeia) and the belief that every symbolical human expression is related to
an intersubjective – therefore political and communitarian – meaning. The analysis of the concept of simulacrum theorized by Jean Baudrillard (Simulacres et simulation, 1981) and the Heideggerian reflections on images, gnoseological process and truth will conclude our paper, helping us to understand that our contemporary time is
“an age of simulacra and simulation, in which there is no longer any God to recognize his own, nor any last judgment to separate truth from false, the real from its artificial resurrection, since everything is already dead and risen in advance”. At the same time, we are presenting alternative paths to modernization, based on a mythical and symbolical hermeneutics, in which images can achieve again their philosophical dignity.
A study on the concept of image as metaphysical bridge, from traditional cultures until postmodern times.
