Synthesis of nanomaterials through a bottom up process generally constrained on various factors such as temperature, stirring speed, concentration of reagents, concentration of reductors and thermodynamic conditions. To cope these obstacles, nanomaterials synthesis of gold (nanogold) was attempted using matrix as a barrier to the growth of gold clusters that tend to uncontrollably. The growth of gold clusters uncontrolled causes the nano size exceeded and further aggregation becomes uncontrollable. Such conditions are evident from the occurrence of large-sized sediment from the synthesis results which far exceeds the nano size. The synthesis uses raw materials HAuCl 4 1 mM, the reducing agent Sodium Citrate 1% and matrix mono glyceryl stearate 0.2% which is one of the basic constituent in a cosmetic cream. Utilization of nanogold in cosmetics was preceded by preliminary research showing that the nanogold safe for cosmetic. The synthesis carried out at a temperature of 80 °C with sti...

This study aimed to test the pre-clinical anti-aging activity of nanogold. The test performed in vivo using mice (Mus musculus) to assess cell proliferation and increasing the collagen quantity in the skin. The test result of anti-aging activity in vivo using mice showed that the quantity of collagen and fibroblasts increased in the treatment of mice with nanogold infiltration. Overall it can be concluded that the nanogold acts as anti-aging by promoting fibroblasts proliferation and increasing collagen biosynthesis.

The effects of heavy metals mercury on the cell proliferation and collagen synthesis from Musmuscullus tissue had the results. This research used laboratory animals Musmucullus as objects of the research. The skin of test animals would exposure to mercury. Mercury material will be included in a pharmaceutical skin cream and placebo treated to control group of test animals. From the description of the dangers of mercury that can cause the tissue damaged. The texture of cross sectional slices the skin of the test animals were exposed to mercury than control is different. The skin animals with mercury exposed has a number of muscle tissue less than control, epidermis and dermis are thinner and fragile than control. While the fat tissue of mercury exposed group had a thicker than the control. The skin animals exposed to mercury had a number of skin fibroblast cells which is smaller than the control at each area. Similarly, percent area collagen of test animals exposed to mercury which i...

Research has been conducted in order to determine the potential of nanogold as a material and supporting material of sunscreen. It can contribute to the pharmaceutical design of cosmetics that much more effective, especially as a sunscreen as well as antiaging. Nanogold with various concentrations to be tested, was synthesized without using a matrix so that sunscreen activity really pure due to the activity of nanogold. Test of sunscreen activity and test of supporting capacity of sunscreen material is done by measuring the absorbance of nanogold, OPMC (Octyl-p- Methoxycinnamate) compound, and combinations of OPMC-nanogold using UV-Vis instrument of Simatzu-1700. The results showed that nanogold having sunscreen activity, especially in the high energy UV region at λ 200 nm. Its activities will be higher if the concentration becomes higher. Nanogold also strongly supports the sunscreen activities of OPMC. This is evident from the increase in absorbance value of the combination of nan...

Abstract. A theoretical study to determine band gap of conjugated porphyrin with Calcium
metal (Ca) has done. Density Functional Theory (DFT) with basis set 6-31 G */B3LYP/grid =
fine (x-fine)/Restricted Kohn-Sham (RKS) was used in computational method. Band gap of
conjugated porphyrin with Ca was determined by the energy difference between the HOMO and
LUMO, a small band gap (Eg ~ 1.1 eV) caused a large absorption power. The result showed
band gap of Ca-porphyrin is 1.09555756 eV. This band gap reflecting ease in excitation of
electron, causing increased of photosensitivity properties Ca-porphyrin. Band gap affect the
electron density in each axis (x, y, and z). Therefore, Ca-Porphyrin is potential to be used as
infrared detector (optical sensor).
