urban collapse or of refugee and detention camps, the
geopolitics of the United Fruit Company, “New Cold War”
nostalgia narratives, the global infrastructures of the New
Silk Road and cultures of surveillance and censorship are
phenomena of our contemporary moment that prompt us
to reimagine and redeploy Cold War structures of feeling
about human and non-human extinction and survival. This
collection seeks to understand post-Cold War built
atmospheres that reference or update far-ranging Cold War
affective geographies , geopolitical atmospheres and
subjective forms in architecture , literature, popular culture
and the arts.
Atmospheres of Extinction seeks to enable a crossdisciplinary
conversation between scholars interested in,
but not limited to, the critical study of the relationship
between space, emotion and the geopolitical imagination of
the Cold War in the 21st Century.
ha tenido la figura autoral femenina en el análisis literario feminista. Desde sus orígenes, la teoría literaria feminista ha basado sus proyectos en el supuesto de que la experiencia de la feminidad, la discriminación, exclusión, marginación o subordinación de alguna manera inciden en el proceso
creativo y en la obra misma; por eso, ante el deceso del autor anunciado por Roland Barthes y subsecuentes elaboraciones postestructurales acerca de la relación entre obra y autor, la teoría feminista se ha mostrado ambivalente dado que es precisamente por los discursos culturales y prácticas
materiales que las escritoras en tanto mujeres históricamente no han sido dueñas de su obra. En este trabajo revisaré el debate teórico entre quienes defienden la necesidad de conservar y problematizar el vínculo entre la experiencia encarnada de la feminidad y la textualidad, y quienes borran el cuerpo de la autora o lo sustituyen con una corporalidad exclusivamente discursiva. Un debate que debe ser replanteado en el contexto actual en el que muchas autoras gozan de celebridad literaria, y su obra es una mercancía en el mercado cultural global cuya relación con la imagen pública mediática constituye un tema interesante.
