Nyder

Nyder is a human from a micro-continuity of the Generation 1 continuity family.

Nyder is a scientist at CalTech. He is unscrupulous and ambitious, and not averse to being party to the conquering the world.

Battle Beneath the Ice

When a mysterious underground city was discovered among the Erebus oil fields, Nyder was part of a group of scientists and military personnel who hopped on an airplane to investigate. The plane was shot down over Antarctica with Nyder one of only a handful of survivors, and he was quick to blame the Russians at Vostok Base. The group was rescued by the city-dwellers, who took them back to the underground city and revealed that the Decepticons had been behind the crash. The city-dwellers proceeded to take them on a guided tour of the city, and as they checked out the huge nuclear reactor, Nyder warned General Scott not to reveal any classified information to the mysterious strangers.

Nyder subsequently slipped away from Hot Rod and the other humans, and spoke to the city-dwellers' leader, the Watcher. As it turned out, the city-dwellers planned to study Transformer warfare and conquer the world and Nyder was only too happy to be their human ally in exchange for a position of power. Their conversation had been recorded by Ravage, who took the information to the other survivors. The others interfered with the plan, causing the city-dwellers to instead reprogram themselves into cartoon characters and Nyder found his plans of ruling Earth slipping away.
