2005 IDW continuity
Javelin was forged on the planet Caminus, and was a member of the same sorority as Nautica and Firestar. Years later, Javelin was celebrating Thunderclash's pre-wake party with various members of the Lost Light's and Vis Vitalis's crews. The Sensuous Frame
After returning to Caminus, Javelin fought against Guiledart in a vain attempt to defend her homeworld from Unicron. She was later seen among the many Camien refugees who were safely evacuated to Cybertron. Last Stand
2019 IDW continuity
- First appearance: Transformers #13
A sniper in Security Operations, Javelin was called in to help box in Ruckus' Rise cell, who'd barricaded themselves within a Titan corpse in the Cybertronian Mountains. As Javelin reported the situation to Chromia, Kaskade shot her in the head. Though Javelin had survived the attack, albeit in bad condition, Chromia authorized the rest of Security Operations to breach the Titan. The Change In Your Nature Part Two Ratchet was still tending to her head wound some time later. All Fall Down
After her repairs were complete, Javelin took part in the operation to reclaim the Senate building from the newly-christened "Decepticons". Sideswipe complimented her return to action, but she seemed a bit distracted. When Clench turned a rail gun on retreating Autobots from atop the building, Prowl ordered Javelin to counter-snipe him. However, she suffered a panic attack and froze up, unable to perform her duty. Prime
Still shaken from her near-death experience and blaming her inaction for the Autobot casualties suffered during the Senate attack, Javelin quit Security Operations. She asked Ironhide to join the (now-former) Senate Guard and he reassured Javelin that she was welcome despite whatever lingering self-doubt she had. Ironhide realigned the Guard's priority to protecting Optimus Prime and they accompanied him to visit the Forge Pyramid and chat with Perceptor. When the Decepticons launched a massive assault on the Pyramid, Javelin saved some of her new teammates from Obsidian and provided cover fire as everyone was evacuated from the installation. Titans
Javelin was part of a detachment of Autobots that accompanied Optimus Prime to speak with Termagax. They set up a defensive position in front of House against an imminent Decepticon attack. Javelin shared a foxhole with Ironhide, who encouraged her to keep firing as she sniped at oncoming enemies. Sea of Rust II Javelin survived the battle and regrouped with the others in the aftermath. Enigmatic
When Novastar's strike team required a sniper to sub in for the absent Sureshot, Javelin volunteered. She traveled with them to locate the Insecticon clone hive and after a little ribbing from Blades, shot down one of the clones for acquisition. Novastar assured Javelin that she'd look out for her the same way Ironhide did and the team prepared for an attack on the Insecticon hive. Radical Time
Successfully infiltrating the hive, Javelin and the others went hunting for Bombshell in order to gain control of the clone swarm. Novastar again checked on Javelin's mental well-being and the sniper assured her that she was fine. After noting the hive was suspiciously quiet, Novastar was stunned when Javelin opened fire down a hallway to the group's rear, revealing an incoming mass of Insecticlones. Calling Cromar to combine with her for more firepower, Javelin told Novastar and Smokescreen to go on ahead as she took on the horde. She put up a ferocious fight and managed to escape and link up with her comrades later after they had secured Bombshell, completing the mission. End of Time
Javelin returned to the ranks of the Prime Guard to defend Darkmount when the Decepticons attacked it to prevent the Autobots from leaving the planet. At the height of conflict, she and several of her comrades were infused with the power of the Enigma of Combination, merging with the Technobots into an enlarged Computron. This super-combiner held off the Decepticons until Darkmount's residents managed to blast off and depart Cybertron. Defeated and de-combined, Javelin and the others were taken into Decepticon custody, satisfied with having given their comrades a future out among the stars. Fate of Cybertron
Toys
Legacy
- Deadeye Duel 2-Pack (2-pack, 2023)
- Accessories: 3-part rifle
- Known designers: Evan Brooks (Hasbro), Shuhei Umezu (TakaraTomy)[1]
- Legacy "Senate Guard Autobot Javelin" is a redeco and retooling of Studio Series Bumblebee Arcee, transforming into a Cybertronian vehicle. She comes with a large sniper rifle with detachable scope and barrel extension based on the gun she wielded in IDW's rebooted Transformers comic (which was itself based on an unlicensed "3P" toy of the Decepticon Justice Division member Vos); both the core rifle and barrel extension have a 3 mm peg for Fire Blast effects. The barrel extension and scope for her rifle can be stored on the insides of her backpack kibble pieces while she's in robot mode. Due to lacking Arcee's blasters to form tailpipes in vehicle mode, her robot mode hands are very visible while she's in vehicle mode, although her arms can be mistransformed resulting in her hands and forearms hidden in the intake housings, which will still tab into Javelin’s legs.
- Javelin was only available in an Amazon-exclusive Pre-Cybertronian War Collection "Deadeye Duel 2-Pack" along with "Ascenticon Kaskade", in reference to their brief faceoff in the pages of Transformers #14. The set was put up for preorder on July 21st, 2023.
Notes
- Alex Milne designed Javelin to have one eye because having one eye is cool, not due to being a victim of Empurata.
- Although Alex Milne designed Javelin with an aircraft alternate mode, she was never shown transforming in IDW's original Transformers continuity. As a result, when she reappeared in the rebooted universe, Anna Malkova depicted her with a ground vehicle alternate mode instead. [2]
