Abstract
The present invention relates to a system (1) for detecting and managing over which website and server transactions –which are carried out via virtual POS (point of sale) devices enabling companies to receive payment by credit card and debit card on electronic commerce sites that provide product or service through online shopping – are made.
Description
A VIRTUAL POS MANAGEMENT SYSTEM
Technical Field
The present invention relates to a system for detecting and managing over which website and server transactions -which are carried out via virtual POS (point of sale) devices enabling companies to receive payment by credit card and debit card on electronic commerce sites that provide product or service through online shopping- are made.
Background of the Invention
Virtual POS devices enable to make payment by credit card or debit card on electronic commerce sites that provide product or service through online (via Internet) shopping. Upon users who make payment in shopping transactions by means of virtual POS enter their card information from an online payment screen, their card information are transmitted to the bank where the virtual POS is connected and the payment is realized by receiving transaction approval. Banks make various security measures obligatory for companies to be able to use their virtual POS devices in electronic commerce sites. One of these security measures is to ensure that websites where a virtual POS device will be used are safe; therefore, banks determine the websites to be used in contracts drawn up with companies and prevent companies from carrying out transaction with different websites. However, due to the fact that there are many websites providing service in the field of electronic commerce, it is difficult to follow-up the websites where companies use virtual POS devices.
Currently, websites within a network traffic are controlled by banks upon performing internet network scannings in order to determine whether virtual POS
devices are used other than the website addresses included in contracts drawn up with companies. Since the said scannings are performed by companies through third party software, extra service fees arise for electronic commerce companies.
Thus, considering the studies and the deficiencies in the state of the art, it is understood that a system is required for detecting a website address where transaction is carried out and then determining whether it is a website defined in the bank or not before the payment transaction (i.e. before reaching the virtual POS device within the shopping flow) in use of a virtual POS device.
The International patent document no. W02014108910, an application in the state of the art, discloses a method for enabling online sales service compatible with products and services card. The method in the said invention carries out transactions of establishing connection of an online sales site with a banking network, listing product and service providers on online sales sites, purchasing selected products and services over a banking network.
Summary of the Invention
An objective of the present invention is to realize a system for automatically detecting a website address (domain) information incoming during a provision transaction in payments that are made via virtual POS devices on electronic commerce sites.
Another objective of the present invention is to realize a system for detecting whether a website incoming during a provision transaction is a website allowed by the bank in accordance with a prior agreement with an electronic commerce company or not, before the transaction flow reaches the virtual POS device in payments that are made via virtual POS devices on electronic commerce sites.
