Abstract

The invention relates to an object to be held by a consumer, comprising: - an outer sleeve (20; 20A) arranged to be held by the consumer; - a closed plastic bottle (11; 11A) with a thin wall, characterised in that the outer sleeve (20; 20A) comprises a lower opening arranged to receive the bottle (11; 11A), and in that at least one first portion of the outer sleeve (20; 20A) engages with at least one first portion of the bottle (11; 11A) received by the opening, in order to form means for locking the bottle (11; 11A) inside the outer sleeve (20; 20A).

The present invention relates generally to the field of containers for liquid food, and relates in particular to a product which comprises a bottle (typically plastic) and a liquid food such as non-gaseous mineral water. The invention also relates to an object which comprises the aforementioned product, and which can be easily handled by a consumer.

It is known in the prior art containers for liquid food, and in particular thin-walled plastic bottles for transporting and delivering mineral water to a consumer who wants to consume water quality, with a flavor and a quality preserved. Such plastic containers or bottles are disclosed in WO201012956A1, WO201093602A2, EP1873067A1, or WO2014101957A1.

In return, the production of these plastic bottles can have an environmental impact, and it is also necessary to provide recycling channels to minimize this impact.

In addition, it may be advantageous (economically or ecologically) to minimize the thickness of these bottles, but it is necessary to provide that the bottle remains easy to handle, and does not deform or not too much when a consumer holds ( typically with a force of 20 newtons). This aspect is particularly important for bottles of small capacity (less than 2 L, preferably less than 1.5 L or even 1 L), because the latter are intended to accompany the consumer in his movements, and a risk of deformation (which leads to an overflow if the consumer strongly squeezes the bottle) must be minimal.

An object of the present invention is to meet the disadvantages of the documents of the prior art mentioned above and in particular, first of all, to provide a bottle that forms a product containing a liquid food that minimizes the l ecological impact, which is cheap to produce, without degrading ergonomics or use by the consumer, who must be able to handle the bottle without taking special precautions, and without risking overflow the liquid content.

For this, a first aspect of the invention relates to an object to be held by a consumer, comprising:

an outer sleeve arranged to be held by the consumer,

- a closed plastic bottle with a thin wall,

characterized

in that the outer sleeve comprises a lower opening arranged to receive the bottle, and

in that at least a first portion of the outer sleeve cooperates with at least a first portion of the bottle received by the opening, to form locking means of the bottle in the outer sleeve.

The sleeve comprises a lower opening, which allows to easily insert the bottle, and the invention provides locking means for locking the bottle thus inserted, so that the consumer can handle the assembly via the sleeve which does not deform or little, and without the bottle falling. This rigidity function being carried over to the sleeve, this makes it possible to propose a thin-walled bottle which does not need to guarantee a high degree of rigidity, so that the quantity of material can be drastically reduced, up to 50% relative to to a bottle of the prior art. This limits the environmental impact because the bottle is disposable and recyclable, and the sleeve can be used many times. Advantageously, the locking is done by the consumer, that is to say the person who will consume the liquid food. However, the invention can be implemented by a user who is not the consumer.

A thread on the body (cylindrical) of the bottle is also easy to achieve because it is one or more helical ribs that run along the body of the bottle, or along at least a portion of the body.

Advantageously, the thread has a thread depth of at least 1 mm, preferably 1.5 mm, and even more preferably 2 mm. we can even consider a net depth of more than 2.5 mm. It is also possible to envisage a symmetrical or even asymmetric net profile in order to take downward efforts more effectively.

Advantageously, the outer sleeve comprises at least one indexing means in rotation of the bottle. This makes it possible to screw and unscrew a cap of the bottle without risk of inadvertent rotation between the bottle and the sleeve.

Advantageously, the bottle comprises a neck, and the indexing means of the sleeve comprises at least one index or protrusion arranged to engage with a portion of the neck of the bottle. Such an index arranged at the neck (by definition rigid) limits the efforts on the locking means formed by threading or clipping / elastic interlocking on the body, by definition flexible.

A second aspect of the invention relates to a method of delivery to a consumer of an object according to the first aspect of the invention, comprising the steps of:

manufacturing a bottle or a plurality of bottles of the object according to the first aspect of the invention, for example by injection blow molding,

filling at least 80% of the internal volume of the bottle or of each of the plurality of bottles with a food liquid, preferably at a temperature below 50 ° C.

- close the bottle or the plurality of bottles,

manufacturing at least one sleeve of the object according to the first aspect of the invention, for example by injection molding or by injection blow molding,

- carry:

- the bottle or the plurality of bottles forming a batch and

preferably at least one sleeve or a number of sleeves smaller than the plurality of bottles,

up to a point of delivery for a consumer, for example the home, a workplace, a restaurant, a store or a mechanized distributor.

In other words, it is proposed to transport and deliver bottles and one or a few sleeve (s) together.

Advantageously, a single sleeve is delivered for a batch of bottles.

The delivery of a batch of bottles with only one (or a small number of sleeves) saves material on each bottle, while providing the possibility of coupling with a reusable sleeve and rigid enough to ensure good ergonomics.

It should be noted that the filling is preferably performed cold (at less than 50 ° C), so that the bottle is not intended to compensate for a pressure / volume variation caused by a change in temperature during cooling.

A third aspect of the invention relates to a method for use by a consumer of an object according to the first aspect of the invention, comprising the steps of:

receiving at least one bottle of the object according to the first aspect of the invention, filled with a liquid food and closed,

- receive a sleeve of the object according to the first aspect of the invention,

- insert the closed bottle in the sleeve, through the lower opening

- lock the closed bottle in the sleeve.

Figure 1 shows three views of a first embodiment of an object according to the present invention, which comprises a bottle 1 1 closed by a cap 12 (thus forming a closed container which contains a liquid food), visible left view, and a visible sleeve 20 seen from the middle. According to this implementation, the object to be held by a consumer (visible right view of Figure 2) comprises a bottle 1 1 A (left view of Figure 1), intended to be inserted into a sleeve 20A (visible view of the middle of Figure 2).

The bottle 1 1 a is always closed by a cap 12, and also contains a liquid food (non-gaseous mineral water for example). By cons, the bottle 1 1 A comprises a peripheral groove 1 1 1 A in the upper part of its cylindrical body, and the sleeve 2A also comprises a peripheral groove 201 A which defines a protrusion on its inner wall, as shown in the lines dotted from the middle view.

Accordingly, in the right view, when the consumer inserts by pushing down the bottle 1 1 A in the sleeve 20A, then the peripheral grooves 11 1 A and 201 A arrive in facing each other, which allows to engage them in each other to lock the bottle 1 1 in the sleeve 20A. Thus, the consumer can handle the bottle 1 1 A holding only the sleeve 20A.

As an advantageous implementation, it is possible to implant a stop in rotation between the bottle 11 A and the sleeve 20A, in the form for example of an index or grooves, or grooves (complementary or not) between the bottle 11 A and the sleeve 20A, in particular at the upper opening of the sleeve 20A which is opposite the neck of the bottle 1 1 A, which is typically stiffer than the rest of the bottle 1 1 A.

These implementations make it possible to propose a sleeve 20 or 20A reusable fairly rigid or at least not too flexible to be held (typically with a force of 20 newtons) without deforming significantly, and to propose a bottle 1 1 or 1 1 A disposable very thin, and therefore too flexible or too flexible to be held (typically with the same effort of 20 newtons) without deforming. This coupling makes it possible to propose a disposable and recyclable bottle 1 1 or 1 1 A manufactured with little material and yet a correct ergonomics, since the sleeve 20 or 20A is sufficiently rigid and reusable.

In all cases, the sleeve 20 or 20A is preferably short enough, but long enough to be held by the consumer (at least ten centimeters long for example), while the bottle 1 1 or 1 1 A exceeds sleeve 20 or 20A to be inserted or removed easily.

It may also provide a strap, or a strap, or fastening strips hooks and textile loops (known under the trademark "Velcro" or called "scratch") to allow the consumer to transport the object in various activities (sport, hiking ...).

We can also provide a bottom of any shape for the bottle, especially a flat bottom that allows you to put the object on a stable worktop if necessary, even if the bottle is very thin so very flexible. In particular, it is possible to provide that the bottom is concave in a relaxed state, and that the consumer, by pressing on it, can make it pass into an activated state so that the bottom has a convexity, which then makes it possible to place the object on a work plan.

In particular, such a concave bottom forms an activatable portion with a concavity oriented in a first direction in a relaxed state, the activatable portion being arranged to deform under a force exerted by a consumer to go into an activated state and present a convexity oriented in a direction opposite to the first direction.

As a result, a pressure exerted by the liquid on the closed bottle with the activatable portion in the relaxed state is less than a pressure exerted by the liquid on the closed bottle with the activatable portion in the activated state.

Returning to the use of the bottle 1 1, we can insert it and lock in the sleeve 20 with the activatable portion in the relaxed state, and then pass the activatable portion in the activated state, which " tends "and inflates the cylindrical portion of the bottle 1 1, so that the bottle 1 1 is even more blocked in the sleeve 20.

In particular, the activatable portion of the bottle is arranged to be activated directly by the user (for example by a thrust exerted by the hand or fingers of the user directly on the activatable portion).

Of course, this change of state is reversible. However, once activated, the activatable portion is arranged to remain in this state, even if the activatable portion is not in contact with a support or a work plan. In other words, the activatable portion is arranged to remain in the activated or relaxed state (not activated) until a pressure is exerted by the user to change state. In addition, the activatable portion is advantageously adjacent to the cylindrical portion, which on the one hand makes it possible to put in tension said cylindrical portion when the activatable portion is activated, and to guarantee on the other hand that the activatable portion will remain activated because a crease along the perimeter of the cylindrical portion will be more resistant. In particular, the weight of the liquid in the bottle is not sufficient to cause the passage of the activatable portion of the activated state to the non-activated state.

It should be noted that this activation is facilitated by a flexible and deformable bottle 1 1 with a thin wall as described in the present application. In summary, it is advantageous to provide a rigid sleeve 20 with a flexible and deformable bottle 1 1 comprising a concave bottom, for inserting and locking the bottle 1 1 in the sleeve 20 (by screwing or elastic interlocking), to then press on the concave bottom to "lock" or further lock the bottle into the sleeve.

It is therefore possible to offer the user a flexible bottle that requires little plastic to make it, while ensuring easy handling once the bottle coupled and locked in the sleeve. Moreover, handling a bottle so thin (in particular to open and pour liquid or drink at the neck) without stiffening ribs not coupled to the sleeve has a proven risk of falling, leakage, overflow.

The bottle 11 or 1 1 A is formed of a thin-walled thermoplastic material. The material is preferably a polyester such as polyethylene terephthalate (PET), poly-trimethylene terephthalate (PTT), polyethylene furanoate (PEF) or poly-trimethylene furanoate (PTF). It is preferably shaped by an injection blow molding process ("Injection Blow Molding" in English) for example an injection stretch blow molding process ("Injection Stretch Blow Molding" in English). In these processes a solid preform is manufactured by injection of material in a mold then cooling, the preform is then heated to soften it, optionally stretched longitudinally with the aid of a rod, then stretched axially and longitudinally by blowing into a mold in the shape of the bottle.

These polyester materials and processes are known to those skilled in the art. Their combination allows to obtain thin walls, light, good mechanical strength and good sealing or other barrier properties. These properties are due to the orientation of the macromolecular chains inducing at least partially a crystallization. In addition to saving material, these polyesters have the advantage of being easily recyclable. The recovery, sorting and regeneration channels are organized. The regeneration may be a mechanical recycling involving melting and shaping, for example granules before new plastics operation such as injection blow molding or chemical recycling involving depolymerization, recovery of monomers or precursors, then a new polymerization.

The implementation and use of the thin-walled bottles of the invention therefore has a very advantageous environmental balance, in addition to a good practicality, especially by contribution to the implementation of conventional PET bottles. not activatable, thicker.

The thin wall is preferably such that the body of the bottle has a thickness in a range from 30 pm to 150 pm, for example in a range from 30 pm to 50 pm or from 50 pm to 70 pm or from 70 μm to 100 μm, or from 100 μm to 125 μm or from 125 μm to 150 μm, preferably in a range from 100 μm to 125 μm. The thickness mentioned is the thickness at at least one point of the body, preferably the average thickness over a portion representing at least 50% in length or at the surface of the body, preferably at least 80%, preferably the thickness average over the entire body. The bottom of the bottle can have a thickness slightly greater than that of the body, for example a thickness of up to 50% more than that of the body, for example up to 20% more. The bottom may also have a cup, typically corresponding to the bottom of the preform and its injection point.

The thickness can be adjusted by adapting, for a target bottle volume, the characteristics of the preform, in particular its shape and the thickness of its walls, as well as the stretching characteristics. It is mentioned that the thickness of the preform walls, the geometry of the preform as well as its length, its diameter and its bottom shape, determine with the neck that will be able to form a bottleneck, the weight. The bottle, not filled, not closed, and / or the preform generally have the same weight. Subsequently the given weights refer indifferently to the bottle weight or preform weight. For a 75 cl bottle, it is advantageous to use preforms of 8 to 13 g. The overall draw ratio may for example be between 12.0 and 27.0, preferably between 15.0 and 20.0. The axial stretching rate (typically the ratio between the height of the bottle and the length of the stretchable portion of the preform, typically the distance under the neck) may for example be between 3.0 and 4.5. The radial stretching rate (typically ratio between the diameter of the bottle and the diameter of the stretchable portion of the preform) may for example be between 4.0 and 6.0. It is mentioned that the overall draw ratio is generally equal to the product of the axial draw ratio and the radial draw ratio.
