Abstract

The present invention provides a device for treating dry eye syndrome, wherein: the area around the eyes and temples are massaged to relieve fatigue in the eyes; sebaceous glands of the eyes are stimulated by supplying heat to the eyeballs such that the formation of sebaceous layers in the eyes is promoted, thereby preventing tears from drying out; eye patches which are made of natural cotton fiber (by immersion in water) and emit far-infrared radiation are used, whereby sufficient moisture is supplied to the eyeballs and an antibacterial function and smooth blood circulation can be induced; and heat is supplied and massaging is provided in stages by setting the time according to the condition of the eyes.

Description

Recently, as the weather is getting colder, the usage time of the heater increases, and the eyes are frequently exposed to a dry environment, so that dry eye patients are rapidly increasing. Because of these factors, modern people suffer from various eye diseases. Dry eye syndrome, for example, is a disease in which the surface of the eye is damaged due to problems such as poor balance of tear film components, tears evaporating too quickly, or less secreted tear secretion, and irritation such as dryness or foreign body.

In particular, women are more than twice as likely to develop dry eye as men due to contact lens wear, eye makeup including mascara, double eyelid surgery, LASIK or LASEK surgery, and postmenopausal hormone changes and treatments. In recent years, however, the number of male patients (dry eye patients) is increasing by more than 12% annually due to stress caused by work, excessive computer use, and lack of male hormones due to aging.

As such dry eye syndrome may worsen, it may cause bleeding inflammation, chronic conjunctivitis, eyelid abnormalities and secondary diseases, so it is recommended to take prompt and appropriate measures early.

In addition, rubbing the eyes while the eyes are dry or touching the eyes with dirty hands may damage the corneal epithelium. Special care should be taken because these wounds can lead to inflammation of keratitis and conjunctivitis.

On the other hand, in the case of mild dry eye that most people suffer from, improvement of symptoms can be seen by improving the environment of the eye surface, which prevents tear evaporation and helps tear production. The most widely known methods for improving the environment of the eye surface include artificial tear injection or punctal closure, but artificial tear injection temporarily relieves symptoms and cannot be a fundamental treatment. In particular, excessive use of artificial tears containing preservatives can harm eye health. Surgery is also a method, but has a high recurrence rate.

Therefore, ophthalmologists have advised dry eye patients to massage or heat with warm steam towels around the eyes as a way to effectively prevent tear evaporation and help tear production without side effects. In addition, recent studies in the field of ophthalmology have shown that products developed on the principle of steam towel massage and poultice are effective in restoring eye health such as dry eye.

However, the conventional dry eye treatment device has a problem that is inconvenient in use as a structure that can not be easily moistened, the eye is easily tired due to the continuous stimulation to the eye when used for a long time.

The present invention was devised to solve the above problems, by massaging the eye area and temples to relieve eye fatigue, by providing heat to the eye to stimulate the eye's myspring glands (oil glands) with heat to the cornea It provides a dry eye treatment device that helps to form an oil layer and prevents tears from evaporating.
