Abstract

The invention relates to a motor vehicle seat (51) comprising a seat portion (52) and a backrest (53), each of which include a frame structure, trimming, and an outer cover (58). According to the invention, the seat comprises at least one strap (62), a first end of which is attached to the frame structure of the seat portion or backrest, and a second end of which projects outward from the outer cover of the seat portion or backrest through a through-opening provided therein.

Description

MOTOR VEHICLE SEAT EQUIPPED WITH A STRAP

TECHNICAL FIELD TO WHICH THE INVENTION RELATES The present invention relates generally to the automotive field.

It relates more particularly to a motor vehicle seat comprising a seat and a backrest each comprising a frame, a gasket and an outer cover.

It also relates to a motor vehicle comprising a frame on which a seat as mentioned above is mounted.

BACKGROUND

During a major braking or accident, there is a risk that objects located in the trunk of a motor vehicle collide with the passengers of this motor vehicle. When these objects are heavy, it is therefore preferable to fix them in the trunk of the vehicle.

This problem arises especially for vehicles with three rows of seats, in which the seats of the intermediate row can be folded against the front seats and in which the seats of the rear row are retractable to be able to free up a maximum space in the trunk.

Indeed, when conveying bulky objects, the seats of the rear row are generally retracted and placed on one side of the trunk, so that they become potentially dangerous for passengers.

The need to fix them in the boot then poses two problems for the user.

The first problem is to find a suitable means of attachment, such as a strap.

The second problem is then to find anchor points to secure this strap in the trunk.

Since no suitable fastening means and no suitable anchoring means is provided in the trunk, the result obtained is generally not optimized and impractical.

OBJECT OF THE INVENTION

In order to overcome the aforementioned drawbacks of the state of the art, the present invention proposes a new motor vehicle seat, which makes it possible to facilitate the attachment of any element in the trunk of the vehicle.

More particularly, it is proposed according to the invention a seat as defined in the introduction, wherein there is provided at least one strap of which a first end is attached to the frame of the seat or backrest and a second end protrudes outwardly of the outer cover, through a passage opening therein.

Thanks to the invention, the strap is always available to the user, in a known position thereof. The first end of this strap is also already securely fixed to the frame of the seat, which facilitates stowage operations in the trunk of the vehicle.

Thus, the ease of use of the strap encourages the user to use it more commonly, for the benefit of his safety.

Other advantageous and non-limiting characteristics of the seat according to the invention are the following:

- the outer cover has a pouch pouch for storing the strap;

- said pocket chaplain is located at the back of the folder;

- said passage opening is located in the pouch chaplain;

- said passage opening is located at the bottom of the pouch aumônière;

- the first end of the strap is attached to the backrest frame; and

- The strap comprises stop means arranged to retain its second end out of the liner.

Other advantageous and non-limiting features of the automotive vehicle according to the invention are the following:

said seat comprises at least one hook and is adapted to be folded and dissociated from the frame in a position such that its strap can be fixed to a headrest of another seat when its hook is hooked to the frame or to another seat ; and

- said seat being located at the rear of two rows of seats which comprise respectively at least one front seat and at least one intermediate seat, the strap is adapted to hook to the headrest of the front seat when the hook is crocheted on the middle seat. DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF AN EXEMPLARY EMBODIMENT

The following description with reference to the accompanying drawings, given as non-limiting examples, will make it clear what the invention consists of and how it can be achieved.

In the accompanying drawings:

FIGS. 1 to 6 are diagrammatic views of the seats of the motor vehicle according to the invention, illustrating the different stages of placing these seats in the storage position, FIG. 7 is a schematic perspective view of the seats of the motor vehicle of FIG. 1, represented in the storage position,

FIG. 1 diagrammatically shows a chassis 2 and seats 1 1, 31, 51 of a motor vehicle 1. The chassis 2 has a conventional shape, with one end located on the side of the vehicle hood and an opposite end located on the side of the trunk of the vehicle.

In the remainder of the description, the terms "front" and "rear" respectively designate the place located on the side of the hood and that located on the side of the trunk of this motor vehicle 1.

In this figu re 1, the seats 1 1, 31, 51 are shown in the position of use, that is to say in a position allowing a passenger to sit there.

They are mounted on the frame 2 in three rows 10, 30, 50.

There is then a first front row 10 having at least one front seat 1 1, a rear third row 50 having at least one rear seat 51, and a second intermediate row 30, located between the first row front 10 and the third row rear 50 which has at least one intermediate seat 31.

As best shown in Figure 7, it is specifically provided here two distinct front seats 1 1, two rear seats 51 united to form a rear seat together, and three intermediate seats 31 two of which are united and a third is distinct from the two first.

As represented in FIG. 1, each seat 1 1, 31, 51 here comprises a seat 12, 32, 52 and a backrest 13, 33, 53 linked together by hinge means 14, 34, 54, as well as a headrest 16, 36, 56 adjustable in height.

As shown in Figure 10, the seat 12, 32, 52 and the backrest 13, 33, 53 of each seat January 1, 31, 51 comprises a frame 55, a gasket (not shown) and an outer cover 58. L frame 55 here comprises a metal tube folded to form a frame. The lining is here formed by a foam roll held in position in the frame 55. The outer cover 58 is made of fabric to aesthetically cover the lining.

As best shown in Figure 7, the hinge means 14 of the front seats 1 1 can adjust the inclination of the backrest 13 relative to the seat 12. The hinge means 34, 54 of the intermediate seats 31 and the rear seats 51 allow for their part to fold the files 33, 53 on the seats 32, 52, in the wallet (see Figure 4), in order to free space in the trunk of the motor vehicle 1.

The intermediate seats 31 are mounted mobile tilting on the chassis

2, using pivot means 35, to be folded in the storage position, called "cinema position", against the front seats 1 1 (see Figure 2).

The rear seats 51 are separable from the chassis 2 to free space in the trunk of the motor vehicle 1. They comprise for this purpose feet which are fixed to the frame 55 of their seats 52 and locking means to lock and unlock at will feet relative to the frame 2, preferably without tools.

According to a particularly advantageous feature of the invention, each rear seat 51 comprises at least one strap 62, a first end 63 (Figure 10) is fixed to the frame 55 of its seat 52 or its backrest 53, and a second end 64 (Figure 1 1) projects outwardly from its outer cover 58, through a passage opening 59 formed therein.

Each strap 62 is more precisely fixed by its first end 63 to the lower cross member of the frame 55 of the backrest 53, by means of screwing or gluing, and protrudes outwardly from the rear face of the backrest 53 of the seat back 51.

The straps 62 of the two rear seats 51 can thus be used either to fix objects against the backs 53 of the rear seats 51, or to fix the rear seats 51 themselves in the trunk of the vehicle, as will be described in more detail in following this presentation.

Here, advantageously, as shown more particularly in Figures 1 1 and 12, the outer cover 58 of the backrest 53 of each rear seat 51 comprises a pouch chaplet 57, which allows to store discreetly the strap 62 to prevent it from deteriorates when not in use

This pocket chaplain 57 is located at the back of the backrest 53.

It is formed by a fabric pocket whose opening is sewn along the edges of a slot 57A cut horizontally in the fabric of the outer cover 58 of the backrest 53.

To prevent the chaff pouch 57 from coming out of the slot 57A, the edges and the bottom of the chaff pouch 57 are here sewn on the outer cover 58 of the backrest 53.

The passage opening 59 of the strap 62 is then preferentially located at the bottom of this pocket chaplet 57, which facilitates the storage of the strap 62 and which allows to hide the opening passage 59. As shown in Figure 12, the strap 62 is also equipped with abutment means 65 which prevent it from returning completely inside the rear seat 51, in which case the user could no longer access it.

In this case, these abutment means 65 are formed by a simple plastic strip molded on the strap, whose length is greater than the largest dimension of the passage opening 59 so that it is retained at inside the pocket chaplain 57 by the edge of this opening passage 59.

Here, the straps 62 are more particularly provided for, when the rear seats 51 have been folded and separated from the frame 2, block them against the intermediate seats 31 after they have been placed in the storage position (see Figure 7).

They are specifically designed to participate in the locking of the rear seats 51 against the intermediate seats 31, in the head-to-tail position, seat 52 against seat 32, so that the headrests 56 of the two rear seats 31 are respectively positioned behind the headrests 16 of the two front seats 1 1, at a distance of these less than one meter.

Thus, the straps 62 block not only the rear seats 51, but also the intermediate seats 31 which are then sandwiched between the front seats 1 1 and the rear seats 51.

Advantageously, to facilitate the positioning of the rear seats 51 in the head-to-tail position against the intermediate seats 31 and to participate in locking the seats in this position, it is provided that each rear seat 51 comprises at least one hook 61.

These hooks 61 are here fixed to the rear seats 51 in such a way that, when the rear seats 51 are in the position of use (FIG. 1), they project rearwardly and downwardly from the chassis 2.

As shown in Figure 8, these hooks 61 are identical and are constituted by U-folded rods so as to have two parallel branches close to one another.

One end of each hook 61, that located on the side of the free ends of the legs of the U, is then bent to be welded on an axis 54A belonging to the hinge means 54 of the rear seats 51.

The other end of each hook 61, that located on the side of the base of the U, is also bent to allow the hook 61 to be able to pick a corresponding portion of the intermediate seats 31.

E n practiced, to croch eter this pa rtie corresponds to nte intermediate seats 31, it is necessary to begin by folding and then fold down these seats intermediate 31 in storage position (Figure 2).

It is then necessary to fold the rear seats 51 in the wallet then separate them from the chassis 2 (Figure 3) by operating their locking means.

Finally, it is necessary to tilt the rear seats 51 forward, to make them make a simple tumble (Figures 4 and 5), so that their hooks 61 are naturally hook a pin 35A belonging to the pivot means 35 of the intermediate seats 31 (Figures 9 and 12).

The straps 62 are then designed to return the rear seats 51 against the intermediate seats 31 (Figure 6), by rotating them about the axis 35A, and then to maintain them in this storage position.

Each strap 62 has for this purpose tensioning means. Here, these tensioning means comprise a ratchet mechanism with lever, which is fixed to the strap 62 at a distance from its free end 64.

The strap 62 also has a length such that, when the rear seats 51 have been hooked on the axis 35A intermediate seats 31 and they are still lying on the frame 2 (Figure 5), it is possible to pass this strap 62 around the headrest of the front seat 1 1 and engage its free end 64 in the ratchet mechanism.

Thus is it possible to gradually tilt the rear seats 51 to their storage position, bearing against the intermediate seats 31, by tensioning the straps 62 through the ratchet mechanisms.

The effort required to rotate the rear seats 51 in the storage position is therefore very small, so that the change of configuration of the seats in the motor vehicle 1 is particularly easy.

To reinstall the seats 31, 51 in the use position, it suffices to reverse gradually loosen the straps 62 so that the rear seats 51 rebase backward.

A handle advantageously located under the seat of the rear seats 51 then makes it easy to tumble the rear seats 51 to the rear, so as to lock them again on the frame 2 of the motor vehicle 1, in the use position.

The present invention is not limited to the embodiment described, but the skilled person will be able to make any variant within his mind.

In particular, the hooks of the rear seats could be fixed on axes provided, not on the intermediate seats, but rather on the chassis of the vehicle.

It could also be planned to replace the rear seat hooks with other locking means (snap, magnetic, ...) which would then be preferentially designed to leave the rear seats free to switch to the intermediate seats.

One could also provide to install the straps on the seats of a vehicle having a single row of seats, in which case these straps would have the sole function of facilitating the attachment of object in the trunk of the vehicle.

Claims

1. Seat (51) of a motor vehicle (1) comprising a seat (52) and a backrest (53) each comprising a frame (55), a trim and an outer cover

(58), characterized in that it comprises at least one strap (62) whose first end (63) is fixed to the frame (55) of the seat (52) or backrest (53) and of which one second end (64) protrudes outwardly from the outer cover (58) of the seat (52) or backrest (53) through a passage opening (59) therein.

2. Seat (51) according to the preceding claim, wherein the outer cover (58) comprises a pouch chaplain (57) for storing the strap (62).

3. Seat (51) according to the preceding claim, wherein said pouch pouch (57) is located at the back of the folder (53).

4. Seat (51) according to one of the two preceding claims, wherein said passage opening (59) is located in the pocket chaplain (57).

5. Seat (51) according to the preceding claim, wherein said passage opening (59) is located at the bottom of the pouch chaplain (57).

6. Seat (51) according to one of the preceding claims, wherein the first end (63) of the strap (62) is fixed to the frame (55) of the backrest (53).

7. Seat (51) according to one of the preceding claims, wherein the strap (62) comprises stop means (65) arranged to retain its second end (64) out of the liner.

8. A motor vehicle (1) comprising a frame (2), characterized in that the frame (2) is equipated with at least one seat (51) according to one of the preceding claims ications.

9. Motor vehicle (1) according to the preceding claim, wherein said seat (51) comprises at least one hook (61) and is adapted to be folded and dissociated from the frame (2) in a position such that its strap (62) can be attached to a headrest (16, 36) of another seat (1 1, 31) when its hook (61) is hooked to the frame (2) or to another seat (1 1, 31).

10. Motor vehicle (1) according to the preceding claim, wherein said seat (51) is located at the rear of two rows of seats (1 0, 30) which respectively comprise at least one front seat (1 1) and at less an intermediate seat (31), and wherein the strap (62) is adapted to hook to the headrest (16) of the front seat (1 1) when the hook (61) is crooked on the intermediate seat (31).
