Abstract

The invention relates to a method for operating an internal combustion engine (10), in which a solenoid valve (14a-d) for injecting fuel is actuated, wherein a coil (16a-d) of the solenoid valve (14a-d) can alternatively be connected to at least one standard voltage source (26) and to a boost voltage source (30) for a boost phase (1), wherein the coil (16a-d) is connected to the boost voltage source (30) in place of the standard voltage source (26) depending on a current operating situation of the internal combustion engine (10) for a pick-up phase (2) of the solenoid valve (14a-d).
