Description
A SHOPPING TROLLEY COMPRISING A MO VEABLE SUPPORTING
SURFACE
Field of the Invention
The present invention relates to shopping trolleys used in shopping centers like markets to facilitate carrying the products to be bought.
The said invention relates to a shopping trolley, which facilitates picking up the products placed in the shopping trolleys, particularly the ones placed on the supporting base surface, and enables upward-downward movement of the supporting surface.
Background of the Invention
Shopping trolleys arc comprised of a supporting body, a product basket formed on the said body, wheels and axle members and a supporting handle. While shopping trolleys are produced from metal materials, there are also different models made of plastic.
In the state of the art, there are many patent applications related to shopping trolleys. The PCT application no. WO2007/1 15731 Al discloses a shopping trolley having a second section formed thereon. By means of an apparatus formed for the said second section, this section is enabled to be opened and closed.
Regarding the prior art, the French patent application no. FR2713184 of the company Dosks De France Oucst discloses a foldable second area of use formed within the product basket of the shopping trolley. The said application discloses a rod structure and a flat surface associated with the rod structure hingcdly joint from a point at a certain height from the supporting base surface of the trolley.
Another patent application is the German patent application no. DE202004016385 filed on October 29, 2004. Hie said application discloses a coin system which enables the shopping trolleys to be relumed to the area where they were picked up, after shopping with them. The application discloses a structure, which enables using the trolley upon inserting a token or a coin and after returning the trolley where they are collected, taking back the token.
Due to the fact that the shopping trolleys used in the state of the art are too deep, one has to lean forward each time to reach the goods at the bottom. This can be a difficult action for people having back problems, short people, fat people and pregnant women. The said technical problems arc experienced in use of shopping trolleys having a certain depth or height of supporting surface. New techniques are required to be developed to eliminate these technical problems.
Summary of the Invention
The objective of the invention is to enable rapid and effortless use of the shopping trolley by means of a movcable supporting surface (upwards and downwards) allowing to easily pick up the products collected on the supporting surface of the trolley especially the products at the lower area.
An objective of the invention is to ensure that picking up products from the trolley is no longer a difficult action for people having back problems, short people, fat people and pregnant women.
Another objective of the invention is to enable that people who have shopped can rapidly take out the products from the trolley whereby shopping queues arc avoided.
In order to attain the above given objectives, the invention comprises a lifting mechanism having a moveable surface, which enables the products placed in the basket of the supporting body to be lifted upwards, and which is located on the
base surface of the supporting body; motion transfer rods, which enable upward and downward movement of the said moveable surface and which are connected to the said surface; and a spring and a moveable collar that enable these rods to be driven.
m order to attain the above described objectives; the moveable surface should be moved upwards for a certain distance from the base surface level of the said supporting body; the said moveable surface and the motion transfer rods should be hingedly joint; and upward and downward movement should be provided by means of the said rods.
In order for the above described objectives to be attained, the moveable surface positioned on the said supporting body should be moved upwards and downwards via an actuator.

Detailed Description υf the Invention
In this detailed description, the preferred embodiments of the inventive shopping trolley are described only to facilitate belter understanding of the invention without producing any limiting effect.
In terms of the elements of the prior art, the invention comprises a supporting body (10), a handle (40) provided on the said supporting body (10), a chassis (20) and wheels (30) that enable the movement of this structure.
The present invention comprises a lifting mechanism (60) having amoveable surface (61 ) which enables the products placed in the basket ( 12) of lhe supporting body ( 10) to be lifted upwards and which is positioned on the base sides (11) of the supporting body (10); motion transfer rods (62), which enable upward and downward movement of the said movcable surface (61), and which are connected to the said surface (61 ); and a spring (65) and a movcable collar (64) that enable these rods (62) to be drivca
The invention comprises hinge points (63) which enable movement of the motion transfer rods (62) connected to the movcable surface (61 ), a fixed bearing shaft (67) which guides upward and downward movement of the said moveable collar (64) and which is also connected to the chassis (20), a pedal (66) which is positioned below the said moveable collar (64) and which is able Io move axially for the spring (65) that is in compressed state to be able to apply pressure, a pedal slot (68) formed on the bearing shaft (67) in order for the movcable surface (61) to be brought to normal position and for the pedal (66) to be locked, at least one locking mechanism (50) which is formed on the said supporting body (10) and which enables operation of the said lifting mechanism (60).
Operation of the mechanism is as follows: when the products placed on the moveable surface (61) are desired to be lifted upwards together with the movcable
surface (61), the pedal (66) which is affixed in the pedal slot (68) (see Figure 4) is moved axially in the s-direction by Toot whereby it is released from the pedal slot (68) (see Figure 3). With the axial movement of the pedal (67), the compressed spring (65) gels released and pushes the movcablc collar (64) upwards in the a- direction. With the movement of the moveable collar (64) in the aκJirection, the motion transfer rods (62) connected to the collar (64) also move.
Since the motion transfer rods (62) are connected to the moveable surface (61) via the hinge points (63), they push the moveable surface (61) upwards in a-direction by means of the spring (65) and the moveable collar (64). The moveable collar (64) exerts the push movement on the bearing shaft (67). Since it is fixed on the said shaft (67), it moves linearly upwards and downwards.
In order to bring the moveable surface (61) to normal position, that is to lower it, again the pedal (66) is pressed by foot to be positioned into the slot (68). With this movement, while the collar (64) and the motion transfer rods (62) are moving downwards they also pull the moveable surface (61 ), to which they are connected, downwards whereby the process is completed. There are holders (61.1) positioned to ensure easy sliding of the moveable surface (61) Ln its upward and downward movement. The said holders (61 -1) are cylindrical and are produced from plastic or metal parts. Additionally barriers (61.2) are formed on the moveable surface (61). Since the weights of the goods on the moveable surface (61 ) are not equal, the surface is prevented by means of the barriers (61.2) from failure to ascend in case it slips to one side.
In Figure 5, as an example to an alternative configuration, it is possible Tor the moveable surface (61) to be moved automatically by depressing a button rather than being moved manually. Upon supplying drive to the motor, which is an actuator (69), the actuator (69) provides rotational movement to the bearing shaft (67). In this system, there are threaded surfaces formed on the bearing shaft (67). In the inner surface of the moveable collar (64), which corresponds to the
threaded outer surfaces (67.1) and which is fixed with this screw just like a screw & nut relation, there arc again threaded surfaces (64.1) formed. With the rotational movement of the bearing shaft (67) the tnoveable collar (64) moves upwards. With the said movement, the transfer rods (62) push the moveable surface (61) to which they arc connected ensuring upward movement thereof, In order for the threaded outer surface of the bearing shaft (67) to perform rotational movement, it is fixed onto the body (67.3) via a ball bearing (67.2). While the threaded part of the shaft (67) is performing rotational movement, the body (67.3) remains in fixed position. This is enabled by the ball bearing (67.2).
Scope of protection of the present application is specified in the claims. It can definitely not be limited to the above description which is provided by way of example. Tt is clear that a person skilled in the art can disclose the innovation disclosed in the present invention by using similar configurations and/or can apply this configuration to other areas of similar objectives used in the related art. Thus, it is obvious that the said configurations will lack novelty and particularly the criterion of surpassing the state of the art.
