- the first drive unit 81 is driven to move the first drive carriage 80 to the left end of the guide rail 40 (step S102). Then, the first drive carriage 80 moves the cutter unit 60 to the left end along the guide rail 40 and sandwiches the cutter unit 60 with the special color head unit 70 fixed at the standby position. Accordingly, the cutter unit 60 is coupled to the cutter unit coupling mechanism 87 of the first drive carriage 80 and the cutter unit coupling mechanism 96 of the second drive carriage 90 and is fixed to the left end portion of the guide rail 40.
- the cutter unit coupling mechanism 87 of the first drive carriage 80 is disconnected from the cutter unit 60, and the first drive unit 81 is driven to move to the right end of the first drive carriage 80 guide rail 40 (step S103). ). Then, the first drive carriage 80 moves the normal color head unit 50 to the right end along the guide rail 40 and presses the normal color head unit 50 against the right hook mechanism 110. As a result, the normal color head unit 50 is coupled to the normal color head unit coupling mechanism 86 of the first drive carriage 80 and is also locked to the right hook mechanism 110 to be fixed at the standby position.
- step S12 When each unit is set at the standby position for normal color printing / cutting (see FIG. 6), the normal color head unit 50 is flushed (step S12). Then, the second drive carriage 90 moves the cutter unit 60 to the right.
- the medium M conveyed to the platen 30 is imaged by the camera 63 mounted on the carriage 61 of the cutter unit 60. Then, the media width and the origin position are detected by detecting marks indicating the edge and the origin position of the medium M from the captured image of the camera 63 (step S24). Then, the second drive unit 91 is further driven to move the second drive carriage 90, thereby moving the cutter unit 60 to the origin position of the medium M (step S25).
- step S31 the spot color printing standby position is set. That is, as described above, the printer / plotter device 1 is unclear at which position of the guide rail 40 the normal color head unit 50, the cutter unit 60, and the special color head unit 70 were stopped when the power was turned off last time. Not all units have returned to the standby position. For this reason, when starting the processing in the special color printing mode, first, the normal color head unit 50, the cutter unit 60, and the special color head unit 70 are moved to an initial state for performing the special color printing mode.

- the normal color head unit 50 is coupled to the normal color head unit coupling mechanism 86 of the first drive carriage 80 and is also locked to the right hook mechanism 110 to be fixed at the standby position (see FIG. 9). ).
- the second drive unit 91 is driven to move the second drive carriage 90 to the right, thereby moving it to the right end of the guide rail 40 (step S202). Then, the second drive carriage 90 moves the cutter unit 60 to the right end along the guide rail 40 and sandwiches the cutter unit 60 with the normal color head unit 50 fixed at the standby position. As a result, the cutter unit 60 is coupled to the cutter unit coupling mechanism 96 of the second drive carriage 90 and the cutter unit coupling mechanism 87 of the first drive carriage 80, and is fixed to the right end of the guide rail 40 (FIG. 10). reference).
- step S203 the connection between the cutter unit connecting mechanism 96 of the second drive carriage 90 and the cutter unit 60 is released, and the second drive unit 91 is driven to move the second drive carriage 90 to the left, whereby the guide rail 40 is moved. Is moved to the left end (step S203). Then, the second drive carriage 90 alone moves to the right end along the guide rail 40 and presses the special color head unit 70 against the left hook mechanism 120. Thus, the spot color head unit 70 is coupled to the spot color head unit coupling mechanism 97 of the second drive carriage 90 and is also locked to the left hook mechanism 120 to be fixed at the standby position (FIGS. 11 and 12). reference).
- step S32 When each unit is set to the standby position for spot color printing (see FIG. 12), the spot color head unit 70 is flushed (step S32). That is, since the spot color head unit 70 is fixed at the standby position in step S31, the maintenance device 140 performs flushing of the spot color head unit 70 to remove clogging of each nozzle.
- step S33 the locking of the special color head unit 70 by the left hook mechanism 120 is released, and the second drive unit 91 is driven to move the second drive carriage 90 to the right (step S33). Then, the second drive carriage 90 moves the special color head unit 70 to the right.
- the medium M conveyed to the platen 30 is imaged by the camera 73 mounted on the carriage 71 of the special color head unit 70. Then, the media width and the origin position are detected by detecting marks indicating the edge and the origin position of the medium M from the captured image of the camera 73 (step S34). Then, the spot driving head unit 70 is moved to the origin position of the medium M by further driving the second driving unit 91 and moving the second driving carriage 90 (step S35).
- step S36 When the spot color head unit 70 is moved to the origin position of the medium M, drive control of the second drive unit 91 and ejection control of each inkjet head module 72 of the spot color head unit 70 are performed (FIG. 13). And the special color is printed on the medium M (step S36).
