Abstract
第1のセル5aと第2のセル5bによって形成されたセル構造が、最外周部において中心部のセル構造と異なって形成されている。具体的には、最外周部の、第1のセル5aが配置される位置に、中心部の第1のセル5aよりも小さく形成された第3のセル5cが形成されており、最外周部は、第2のセル5bと第3のセル5cが交互に並んで配置されている。第2のセル5b及び第3のセル5cを最外周部に配置することにより、外壁3の内周面3sは、直線的に形成され、セルの長手方向に垂直な平面で切断した断面において、四角形状に形成されている。外壁3の厚みは、その角部以外において、ほとんど凹凸がないように均一の厚さに形成される。本発明のハニカムセグメントは、セグメントを貼り合わせた際の接合材層の接合幅が一定になり圧損のばらつき、接合材による熱応力吸収効果のばらつきが低減できるとともに、スス燃焼時に発生する局所的な熱応力に対しクラック防止効果を向上させることができる。
