Abstract

PPARγ activators/modulators which contain as the active ingredient cercosporamide derivatives represented by the general formula (I) or pharmacologically acceptable salts or esters thereof; and pharmaceutical compositions for the treatment and/or prevention of diseases in which PPARγ participates: (I) wherein X is oxygen or the like; R1 is hydrogen or C1-6 alkyl; R2 is hydrogen, C1-6 alkyl, or the like; R3 is hydrogen or C1-6 alkyl; R4 is C6-10 aryl which may be substituted with one to five groups independently selected from group (a) of substituents, or the like; n is 1, 2 or 3; and group (a) of substituents includes halogeno, C1-6 alkyl, C1-6 haloalkyl, and so on.
