- the operator can drill another inch or so to try and free up the inner tube, or in the worst case, pull the rods without having to cut the wire line.
- the up and down movement of the overshot is translated into rotational movement whereby the lower rotator 19 is rotated so that the slot 19a can slide over the lower drive key 16 putting pressure on the top of the lifting dogs 12 to unlatch the overshot 10 from the tube.
- the pump down features of the overshot are maintained and the adjustments and other action of the overshot all remain as before.
- the major change is the ability to unlatch at will by dialling up the number of strokes chosen to unlatch the unit. This is done by selecting the number of strokes desired after cocking the unit as per usual.
- the number of strokes is translated into the number of teeth 18 around the lower end of the lower rotator 19.

Abstract
L'invention crée un outil repêcheur (10) pour des opérations sur trou de forage qui comporte un arbre de pivot (42) au niveau de son extrémité supérieure servant à relier le repêcheur (10) à un câble, un corps de positionneur (11) situé au niveau de son extrémité inférieure qui comporte une paire de cames de levage (12) servant à introduire un élément dans le trou de forage, un arbre de siège de pression (27) situé entre le corps de positionneur (11) et l'arbre de pivot (42), une bague tournante inférieure (19) pouvant glisser et tourner par rapport au corps de positionneur (11), comportant une fente (19a), une bague tournante supérieure (31) pouvant se déplacer avec la bague tournante inférieure (19) qui comporte des dents (18) qui sont en prise avec une clavette d'entraînement inférieure (16) sur le corps de positionneur (11). La bague tournante supérieure (31) comporte des dents (30) qui sont en prise avec une clavette d'entraînement supérieure (28) sur l'arbre de siège de pression (27). La bague tournante inférieure (19) et la bague tournante supérieure (31) sont entraînées en rotation par les clavettes d'entraînement (16) et (28) lors du mouvement vers le haut et vers le bas des bagues tournantes (19) et (31) jusqu'à ce que la fente (19a) soit alignée avec la clavette d'entraînement inférieure (16) ce qui permet à l'extrémité inférieure de la bague tournante inférieure de se mettre en prise avec l'extrémité supérieure des cames de levage afin d'ouvrir l'extrémité inférieure des cames de levage et, ainsi, de libérer l'élément.
