Definitions
- Flashlight with tubular housing including an emergency system managed by microprocessor
- the present invention relates to a torch with a tubular housing, one end of which houses an optic with a reflector of the parabolic type and a bulb placed substantially at the focal point, the reflector being possibly adjustable relative to the bulb, as well as a set of housed batteries in the housing body, behind the bulb.
- flashlights There are multiple embodiments of flashlights corresponding to the above definition. These flashlights generally have the drawback of being unpredictable in that they do not make it possible to know the charging situation of the batteries, the failure of which occurs suddenly. It is the same for the bulb which can be faulty. The user is then obliged to make tests and first of all to dismantle, if he thinks of it, the optics to extract the bulb, possibly check its state, if that is visible, replace it and make new tests then change the batteries.
- a user and especially a professional, using a flashlight cannot always have the necessary spare batteries with them, especially since a usual flashlight contains a set of a few round batteries of the appropriate type. Such batteries are bulky when they are outside the torch housing. They are also relatively heavy.
- the object of the present invention is to develop a flashlight of the type defined above, making it possible to know at all times its operating possibilities while offering automatic emergency operation in the event of need.
- the invention relates to a flashlight of the type defined above, characterized in that it comprises:
- an electronic management circuit comprising: * a means of checking the battery level to display their charge level and switch the battery or batteries to the emergency bulb if the main bulb is connected but the battery level insufficient, * a means of controlling the bulb , the management circuit displaying the bulb status (in order / out of service) or a battery charge level when the flashlight is on,
- the emergency or substitution lighting is immediately implemented insofar as the user had switched on the normal bulb. the torch.
- This replacement lighting at least partially replaces normal lighting. It also allows replacement of a bulb if the normal bulb is out of service. This lighting also makes it possible to replace the batteries if they are exhausted and the user has replacement batteries. It is also possible for the user to have emergency lighting at the same time as normal lighting, this dual use allows "ambient" lighting.
- control membrane covers a contactless switch with HALL effect or with lamellae, that is to say a contactor with magnetic trip also called ILS,
- the housing comprises, above the tubular body, in the part housing the batteries, an elongated protuberance permanently housing the battery or batteries and the emergency bulb,
- the protrusion housing the battery or batteries comprises a transparent or translucent part behind which is the emergency bulb, - the electronic management circuit and the various display means as well as the switch control membrane are provided in a part of the housing located substantially behind the reflector and above the corresponding end of the battery compartment, and integrated in the external contour of the optics.
- FIG. 1 is a view in vertical longitudinal section of a flashlight according to the invention
- FIG. 2 is a view in horizontal longitudinal section of the flashlight
- FIG. 3 is a sectional view along C-C of FIG. 1,
- FIG. 4 is a sectional view along D-D of FIG. 1, • FIG. 5 is a top view of a flashlight according to the invention,
- Figure ⁇ is a block diagram of the electrical / electronic circuit of the flashlight according to the invention.
- the flashlight according to the invention consists of a housing 1 generally of tubular shape with at its front end 2, a part of enlarged diameter housing an adjustable optics 3 formed of a reflector 4, substantially parabolic, closed at the front by a glass 5 and placed in a ferrule 6 screwed onto the threaded front end 7 of the body with the interposition of a seal 8.
- the thread is of relatively large pitch to allow movement in translation optics 3 and modify the beam (parallel beam, converging beam, divergent beam).
- the optic also includes a bulb 9 placed in a fixed housing 10, integral with the housing.
- the bulb 9 or its filament is preferably located substantially at the focal point of the parabolic reflector 4 so that the flashlight emits a beam of parallel rays.
- this beam can be transformed into a divergent or convergent beam depending on the position of the bulb relative to the focal point.
- This bulb 9 can be a normal bulb or a halogen bulb.
- These cells 12 are cylindrical elements of circular section; they are placed in contact one behind the other.
- the body 11 has a plug
- the plug 14 screwed with interposition of an O-ring 15 to close the housing 1 tightly.
- the plug 14 applies a contact spring 16 against the bottom of the last battery 12.
- the plug 14 also houses one or more replacement bulbs 17.
- a protrusion 19 forming a battery compartment (s) 20.
- these are four circular cylindrical batteries, of small dimensions, aligned l 'one over the other.
- the rear of this housing 19 forms a cavity 24 containing an emergency bulb 22 supplied under the conditions defined subsequently from the batteries 20.
- This cavity 24 includes a reflector 21 and the upper part of the housing 23 at the level of the bulb. relief is transparent or at least translucent.
- the housing 28 in the front part of the housing 1, between the part housing the optics and the elongated protrusion permanently containing the batteries and the emergency bulb, is the housing 28 containing an electronic management circuit and the micro-lamps 29 as well as on the top, a surface 30 with the control and display means preferably in liquid crystal.
- control and display means consist of a membrane control 27 for implementing the flashlight and display means indicating by pictograms the state of the lamp on a screen preferably in liquid crystal 30.
- the pictogram 34 for the state of the bulb 9 indicating whether it is able to function or whether it is out of service. This state concerns the main bulb 9 fitted to the optics.
- the membrane 27 covers a contactless button with HALL effect or with magnetic release strips.
- This button is constituted by a magnetic element, the displacement of which closes a HALL contact connected to the management circuit 29. This closing of the contact generates a pulse controlling, via the management circuit, the starting of the lamp or its stopping. .
- the top view in FIG. 5 clearly shows an example of the distribution and arrangement of the various pictograms on a viewer, preferably in liquid crystal.
- FIG. 6 is a block diagram of the electronic management circuit and of the peripheral elements.
- This electronic circuit for example in the form of an electronic card with a microprocessor and a management program contained in a ROM read-only memory, not shown, is linked by the contactless switch, with the batteries 12 and the battery. 20 as well as with the main bulb 9 and the emergency bulbs 22, 28, 29 as well as with the viewer 30, 38.
- Modes of operation of the flashlight comprising a backup system managed by microprocessor:
- Normal operating mode Normal, Ambient and Morse. That is to say by one, two or three pulses exerted on the control membrane 27 according to the choice of the operator when the device is started up. -
- the emergency mode is not an operating mode but is a consequence of the test result. Normal operating mode:
- a pulse, for example exerted on the control membrane 27 will allow the lamp to be started and thus inter alia to switch to Normal operating mode, that is to say the main lighting of the the bulb 9 powered by the cells or batteries 12, which will give rise to the automatic switching on of a succession of tests and of the management system.
- This will cause the results to be displayed or not in the form of pictograms 31, 32, 32A, 32B, 32C, 33, 34, 35, 36, 37, on pictogram 38, representing a symbolic view of the flashlight which will be itself even a screen printing on the viewer 30, preferably in liquid crystal.
- Two pulses, for example exerted on the control membrane 27, will allow the lamp to start up and thus, among other things, to switch to Ambient operating mode. That is to say the switching on of the main lighting of the bulb 9 powered by the cells or batteries 12 and of the ignition of the emergency lighting therefore become ambient composed in front of a series of micro lamp ref. 28, 29 and a small bulb (micro torch style) positioned at the rear, ref. 24 thus composing the emergency lighting renamed ambient 22, 28, 29 and the permanent lighting of its graphic representation by the pictograms 32A, 32B, 32C on the viewer 30 preferably in liquid crystal.
- This state concerns the passage in Ambient lighting, which will give place to the automatic starting of a succession of tests and the management system.
- Three pulses for example exerted on the control membrane 27, allow the lamp to be started and thus, among other things, to switch to Morse operating mode, that is to say the main lighting of the lamp being started.
- This state concerns the switch to Morse lighting, which will give rise to the automatic activation of a succession of tests and the management system.
