SchalenpackungBowl pack
The invention relates to a bowl pack, in particular for holding portions of food in need of sterilization, such as animal feed or the like, with an open bottom part made of sheet metal, such as aluminum or steel, in the form of a bowl, a hollow cylinder or the like, on the upper edge of which a one-piece piece is provided with the lower part formed sealing edge, the upward-facing circumferential sealing surface runs substantially parallel to the bottom surface of the lower part, one the inner surface of the lower part and the sealing surface thereof covering, continuous inner coating as corrosion protection, which prevents the contents of the pack from coming into contact with the metal sheet of the lower part, and a sealing film made of metal foil, paper or the like, which is provided on its underside facing the lower part with a sealing film coating, wherein The material selection of the inner coating and the sealing film coating using a plastic and a sealing wax component, such as polypropylene, polyethylene, polyethylene terephthalate or polycarbonate or a sealing wax compatible with this, is made such that when the sealing film is pressed onto the sealing edge in a sealing tool or the like Application of pressure and heat results in an essentially gas- and moisture-tight sterilizable seal connection between the sealing film and the lower part.
Derartige Schalenpackungen, z. Such shell packs, e.g. B. for small portions of animal feed for dog or cat husbandry are known. The lower part generally consists of a deep-drawn aluminum shell, while the sealing film can consist, for example, of a very thin aluminum film. For reasons of corrosion protection, the lower part is coated on the inside with a plastic film or a plastic film of the type described at the outset, which prevents the contents of the package from directly contacting the corrosion-sensitive metal sheet of the lower part, which is, for. B. can also be a particularly thin steel sheet comes into contact. The sealing film coating consists of a sealing varnish which is applied to the sealing film over the entire area and ensures that the sealing film is sealed gas-tight and liquid-tight to the lower part by pressing the sealing edge of the lower part using the appropriate pressure and heat.
Tray packs of this type have proven their worth. As However, it turned out to be unfavorable that the choice of material for the sealing film could not yet be satisfactorily resolved. This is because the sealing film, which is covered on its side facing the lower part in the conventional shell packs with a very thin sealing lacquer layer, which in turn cannot absorb mechanical loads in the film plane, is both relatively tear-resistant as well as flexible and rollable must be trained. This limits the choice of material, since neither particularly thin z. B. aluminum foils can be used, which otherwise z. B. could easily tear when the sealing film is subjected to an impact on the transport or also at the point of sale, still relatively inexpensive materials, such as. B. paper or the like can be used.
The invention has for its object to develop the tray pack of the generic type in such a way that greater flexibility with regard to the choice of material for the sealing film is achieved while maintaining the sterilization ability, the tray pack should be stable and reliable in use.
According to the invention, this object is achieved in that the inner coating of the lower part consists of a sealing lacquer layer and the sealing film coating consists of a plastic film.
It can be provided that the sealing film coating is applied as a melt or solution film on the inner surface and the sealing edge of the lower part.
It can also be provided according to the invention that the sealing film coating consists of single- or multi-axis (high) stretched plastic material.
The invention is based on the surprising finding that it is possible to achieve the object in that the plastic film which is used as a corrosion coating for the lower part in the prior art and can only "play" its anti-corrosion properties here without the additional inherent property of plastic films, namely their toughness and high mechanical resistance, would be relocated to a more functional place, namely in their training as a sealing film coating, while the sealing wax, which was previously provided on the sealing film, namely in the prior art was used as an internal protective coating for the lower part.
The sealing wax, which is not able to take over mechanical functions, thus serves two purposes in the invention as an inner coating for the lower part, namely on the one hand to ensure reliable corrosion protection of the lower part, but also also, as in the prior art, to enable a reliable seal in connection with the plastic film, while the plastic film brings out its properties, namely toughness and high mechanical transverse strength, which are not used in the conventional shell packs, as a sealing film coating. Since the actual sealing film material is largely relieved of the tasks of mechanical toughness and transverse strength, the sealing film material, for example the aluminum or steel sheet used, can be made much thinner than with conventional shell packs, with all the associated cost advantages. Materials can also be used that could not previously be used, such as. B. paper or the like, ie Materials with low mechanical strength.
All in all, this makes it possible to create a shell pack that is considerably less expensive than previously, and which also has improved strength properties with regard to the sealing film.
Further features and advantages of the invention result from the following description, in which an exemplary embodiment is explained in detail on the basis of the schematic drawing.
The drawing consisting of a single figure shows a shell pack according to the invention in a vertical section through the longitudinal axis.
As can be seen in the drawing, the shell pack according to the invention in the exemplary embodiment shown there has a lower part 10, which here consists of sheet steel with a thickness of 0.1 mm and is produced using the drawing method. The lower part 10 is coated on its inner surface, including a sealing edge running essentially parallel to its bottom surface, with an inner coating 12 made of sealing wax, which is so thick that both the steel sheet of the lower part 10 is protected against corrosion and also reliable sealing is made possible. A sealing foil 14, consisting of very thin aluminum foil, is provided on its underside with a sealing foil coating 16 in the form of a polypropylene foil. By means of a sealing tool, the sealing film 14 can be connected to the lower part 10 in a known manner in a gas-tight and liquid-tight manner by applying pressure and heat along the sealing edge, with suitable selection of the sealing wax for the inner coating 12 and the material for the sealing film coating 16 it can be ensured that the filled and sealed package can be sterilized.
B. auch bei konservenbüchsenähnlichen Behältnissen und dergleiche .Of course, the idea of the invention can be provided to provide the corrosion-sensitive lower part with an inner coating of sealing wax which also serves as a corrosion layer, while a sealing film 14 covering the lower part can be provided with a mechanically resilient sealing film coating in the form that is compatible with the sealing lacquer of the inner coating 12 of the lower part 10 to equip a mechanically resilient plastic film, not only to use in the case of tray packs of the type described above, but e.g. B. also with canning-like containers and the like.
The features of the invention disclosed in the above description, in the drawing and in the claims can be essential both individually and in any combination for the implementation of the invention in its various embodiments.
