The knickers 1 are cut on conlentional' lines and'are rovided with the ldops 2 for ll receiving the belt for retaining the upper art of the garment in position. At the ower extremity of each leg a cufl' 3 is provided for grippin below the knee. T e cufl's are made of tubu- 40 lar knitted woolen fabric or cloth andare highly elastic and adapted to stretch and contract in use. Each coil 3, as shown in tgigure 2, is made of a sin IeJJiece of tubular aterial 4, which is dou le back on itself I to form two layers 5 and 6. -When the cufi isto be. ap lied to the leg of the garment the ends 7 an 8 of the layers 5 and Gare suitably distended to form}; pocket 9 for receiving the lower end 10 of the knickerbockers leg 11,,and when thetfgzrts are in the position shown in Figure 3 v y are suitably secured together by sewing 12. r l
ing substantia a knickerbocker of woven materia the limb of the wearer leg thereof being It will be understood that the improved double or two fold cufl presents consi erable elasticity and owing to its formation will retain such elasticity during the life'of th'- garment and thereby. ensure good'fit at all times. What I claim and desire to secure by Let- 1.- As an article of outer wearin ap arel, a knickerbocker of woven materia eac leg thereof bein provided with a cufi extendmg substantially below said 1e "and comrising a continuous length of e astie tubuar knitted material, doubled back upon itself and secured' to form' a. lower folded edge, said knittedmaterial being permanently secured-to said leg. a

aflixed to each leg an elastic knitted cuff, doubled back upon itself ap arel,
' elastic tubular knitted material, fixedly held a knickerbocker ofwoven material, each rovided with a cufi extending substantia ly below said leg and comprising a continuous len h of elastic tubular knitted. material doub ed back -u on itself toform a folded edge, the two ends lieing permanently secured to the said leg.
