DESIGN FOR A BACK-BAND HOOK.

Application filed. January 22, 1909.

To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that 1, JAMES H. Es'rns, a citizen of the United States, residing at Fairburn, in the county of Campbell and State of Georgia, have invented a new, original, and ornamental Design for Back- Band Hooks, of which the following is aspecification, reference being had to the accompanying drawing, forming part thereof, and wherein Figure l is a perspective view of a hook embodying my design. Fig. 2 is a side view of the hook.

As illustrated, the hook which I have designed comprises a substantially triangular body portion of round stock, the sides of said triangular body portion at one of the angles being bent so as to extend outwardly and converge toward each other for a short distance and then upwardly forming a semicircular loop which returns upon itself a short distance above the body portion to form a hook, the end of which portion is then bent downwardly so as to lie in the plane of the body portion. The hook proper is formed by the aforesaid two projecting sides of the triangle, which as they begin to make the semi-circular turn lie in contact and continue so until the end of the hook. The sides of the hook are flattened in vertical planes from about the semi-circular Specification for Design.

loop to the downwardly pointed end, while the top and bottom of said hook are also flattened, but such flattened portions begin about midway between the semi-circular loop and tip end of the hook. A hook made in this manner presents a pleasing and artistic appearance, the body being of triangular shape and made of round stock, which is continued throughout the semi-circular loop, the sides of the hook then begin to be straightened, or lie in vertical planes, while toward the end of the hook, the top and bottom thereof are also flattened and lie in horizontal planes, the hook at this point and onward to the end being of rectangular form. The semi-circular loop it will be seen, presents a corrugated appearance which is continued on its upper and lower surfaces until these corrugated surfaces merge into the flat surfaces.

The ornamental design for a back band hook herein shown and described.
