DESlGN FOR A RECEPTACLE FOR MATCHES, 86C.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 2 4,576, dated August 20, 1895.
Application filed May 8, 1895. Serial No. 548,605. Terni uf patent 'i years.
To all whom, may concern:
lie it known that I, LOUIS P. VHITEMAN, a citizen of the United States, residing at New York, county and State of New York, have invented and produced a new and original Design for Receptacles for Matches, rizo., of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, forming part thereof", in which- Figure 1 is a perspective view of a receptacle made in accordance with my design, and Fig. 2 is a vertical section through the same.
The object of my invention is toprovide a unique and attractive receptacle for matches or other articles; and to this end said invention consists in a. design for a receptacle, the leading feature of which, as shown, is a representation of a single human foot and ankle mounted upon a base of such shape and size as to be less conspicuous than the foot and 2Q ankle.
In the drawings, A designates the portion of the receptacle shaped like the human fooi, and B the ankle, as both appear when nude. The cavity C of the receptacle is shown as 25 formed in onli7 the ankie portion B, and a stopper or cover D is shown as closinr the same. The foot is mounted upon a base E ot' the shape of a parallelograni.
Having described my invention, what I 3o claim is- The design for .f1 receptacle for inatchts, dsc., substantially as shown.
