DESIGN FOR A STOVE.

\Vc,Sxn1nMAN S.JnwF/1"r and FRANCIS ll. Itoor, ofthe city of Buffalo, in the county ot' Eric, and State of New York, have invented and produced a new and original Design for Stoves, of which the following is a specification.
Our invention relates to a design for the cast parts of a sheet-iron stove, consisting ot' a top ring or frame and cover, door, door-trame, and baseplatc, all ol' which are constructed, in their general features, after wellknown patterns, so' as to form, with the requisite body ot' sheet-iron, a wood-stove of convenient oval or cylindrical form, but distinguished from all other stoves of this kind, by the peculiar design or ornamentation of these cast portions.
In the accompanying drawings- Fignre I is a perspective view of the top frame and cover.
Figure II is a perspective view of the door and frame and base-plate.

A is the top ring or frame,
B, the cover,
C, the door,
D, the door-frame, and
E, the base'plate.
The ornaments ot' the top ring A consist of a narrow row or band, u, applied in relief to its convex edge, and a broader one, n', arranged concentrieally in its concave portion.
A very narrow row of' ornaments, b, znlorns the npwnrdly-proiccting rini or llangc, in which the cover B lits.
A basket or nrn, H, formed of' foliage, and provided with two scroll-shaped handles, lr, and a pierced cover, terminating in a inial, lr', rises from the centre of Cover l.
A wreath, (l, ot' foliage, surrounds the base of said vase, and an outer ornamental band, d', encloses the. word Iiilyj this being thc naine or denornirmtion of this kind otl stove.
llhc main portion of the cover proper is covered with convex radial tlntings, e, enclosed in an ellipse, while ontsideot' this ellipse, at the ends, the surface of the cover is embellished with scroll-work or arabesques, f.
The lily is the distinctive ornament of this stove, and a tlower of this kind, with stern and leaves, is represented in relief in the centre of the moulded panel ot' the door O.
The l'onr corners of the. door nre lilled with fretornaments, r/.
The convex surface of the door-frame l) is ornamentcd in the same way as the concave portion al, of b the top ring A.
The edge of the base-plate E is covered with ornaments, a", similar to those applied to the edge of ring A, and a concentric cord, i, of cable-work, is laid in the moulding formed between the edge ot the baseplate and the projection to which the stove-body of sheet-iron is fitted, the convex surface of said projection being likewise embellished with ornaments, m.
The rounded corners ot' tbe front extension of the base-plate E are filled with scroll-work and foliage, s, enclosing a rosette.
Ve claim, as onr invention- The designsl for the cast portions of a sheet-iron stove, consisting of the top ring A, cover B, provided with nrn Il', door C, door-trame l), and base-plate IC, as shown and described.
