Application filed June 25, 1902. Serial No. 113,175. Term of patent 'I years.
T0 @ZZ whom. t may con/cern:
Be it known that I, ARTHUR BUReEss, a subject of the King of Great Britain, residing at Philadelphia, in the State of Pennsylvania, have invented and produced a certain new, original, and ornamental Design for Lace Ourtains, of which the following is a full, clear, and exact description, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, forming a part of this specification.
My invention relates to the surface ornamentation of lace-curtain fabrics in which the ornamental pattern or design is produced in the weaving; and it consists in the ornamental design for a lace curtain as illustrated in the drawing, in which is represented a curtain having a border embodying my new design, the field or body portion of the curtain being shown blank or plain.
The characteristic features of :my curtain design consist of a continuous edge border on two sides of a curtain-body, A being the long side, and B the short side, at right angles with each other, said border consisting of two parallel and narrow plain-surface outer edges c and I) and another and central plain ground surface c, comparatively wide and parallel with the outer plain edges (t and b. Said plain-surface edges c and b are connected. with the intermediate central plain surface c in the pattern by two parallel rows of open laeework gures d, said lacework eliect relatively to said plain-surface portions 0., l), and c being a distinguishing feature of the concrete pattern. The intermediate central ground surface c is filled in with a row of iigures e, representing empire wreaths.
I claim as new and of my inventionl The ornamental design for a lace curtain substantially as shown and described.
In testimony whereof I have hereunto allt fixed my signature this 31st dayof May, A. D. 1902.
