Application filed April 8, 1901. Serial No. 54,956. Term of patent 7 years.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, FRANK S. SMITH, a citizen of the United States, and a resident of Chicago, in the county of Cook and State of Illinois, have invented and produced a new and original Design for Horseshoe-Pads, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, forming a part thereof.
Figure 1 is a perspective view of the bottom of a pad shaped according to my design. Fig. 2 is a plan view of the top of the same. Fig. 3 is a side elevation.
The leading or material feature of my design consists in the horseshoe pad formed of the thin flattened part 1, having the enlargementor cushion 3 on one face thereof and extending across the rear part of said face, said cushion having the two webs 4 extending forward of same, having its forward edge 8, between and at each side of said Webs, in a straight line and having its forward side'between and at each side of said webs beveled or gradually sloping to meet the flattened part 1. The face of the cushion is roughened by the intersecting corrugations 5, and the front edge 8 of the cushion is straight, and said cushion has a gradual slope 6, meeting the pad 1. The slight ridge 7 is the line of junction between the flattened part 1 and the cushion 3.
WVhat I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
The design for a horseshoe-pad, substantially as herein shown and described.
Signed by me at Chicago this 5th day of April, 1901.
