UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
CHARLES LEIB, OF PHILADELPHIA, PENNSYLVANIA.
DESIGN FOR A HOOK FOR GARMENTS.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 34,094, dated February 19, 1901.
Application filed NOVGIDIJBI 10, 1900- Serial NO. 36,005- Term of patent 1 years,
f0 all whom, it may concern.-
Be it known that I, CHARLES LEIB, a citizen of the United States, residing at Philadelphia, county of Philadelphia, and State of Pennsylvania, have invented and produced a new and original Design for a Hook for Garments, of which the following is a specification, reference being bad to the accompanying drawings, forming part thereof.
In the drawings, Figure 1 is a top plan view. Fig. 2 is a side view, and Fig. 3 is a top plan view of the shank with the hook portion omitted.
This design is for a hook for garments of that class designated by the trade as hooks and eyes and pertains to the class in which there is a hump in coaction with the hook.
As shown in the drawings, the leading or material feature of my design consists of the circularly-curved portions 1 at the inner end, with the shank portions 2 in parallel relation, but separated to receive the humped portion 3, with the shank portions curved outwardly at diametric opposite sides to form enlargements 4 beneath the hook portion 5, the radius of the inner curvature of the enlargements being substantially equal to the diameter of the wire of the shank portion 2, whereby the opening formed by the curved portion and located between the shank portions 2 and the hump portions 3 is in a vertical plane with the hook portion 5.
Having described my invention, what I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-- The design for a hook for garments, as herein shown and described.
In testimony whereof I have signed my name to this specification in the presence of two subscribing witnesses.
CHARLES LEIB.
Witnesses:
WILLIAM WEBSTER, M. J OoLLINs.
