Design No. 3,320, dated January 5, 1869.
DESIGN FOR .A TEA-SERVICE.
The Schedule referred to in these Letters Patent and making part of the salma J all persons to whom these presents 'may come:
Be it known that I,W1LLIAM PARKIN, of Taunton,
the county of Bristol, and State of Massachusetts, we invented or produced a new and ornamental Degn fora Tea-Service; and do hereby declare the same be represented in the accompanying drawing, which a perspective representation of aJ tea-pot, designed i accordance with my invention.
The design embraces the body and legs of the pot.
The body is in the form of three conic frusta, a b o, 1e middle and bottom ones of which are united at ieir larger bases. The upper one has its longer base )ined to the lesser base of the middle one.
Each of the legs d. springs from the outer siuface of he lower frustum o, or from a lance-head-shaped proection, d, ornamented, as represented.
Over each of the legs there extends, from the body, a rosette, e.
The ornamentation or chasing of the body may be as represented, or may be otherwise formed.
The cover is conical, and terminates at top in a leaf and the body of' a winged cherub, holding a ball in his hands.
The handle and spout, although represented in the drawing, constitute no part of the design.
I claim the ornamental design of the body and the legs, to be employed in giving form to a tea-pot or other article or part of a tea-service.
