DESIGN FOR A PAHLOR-STOVE.
TO ALL 'lO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN:
Be it known that I, JOHN B. G1iYSER,0f the city of Pittsburg, in the county of Allegheny, and State of Pennsylvania, have originated and designed a new Style of Ornament for Parlor-Stoves, of which the following is a full, clear, andexact description, reference being bad to the accompanying drawings, making part of this specification.
The drawing presents a perspective view of the whole stove. The general form of the stove is the old Franklin or open-fireplace store. In this stove the doors can close the fire-chamber, and when it is wished open, are folded back into the recessed panel of the side. It has a dome surmounted by an urn, and on the hearth is a small fender.
The design or ornament of the doors, and of the portion of the sides on the same level, is a Gothic arched panel, marked A on the drawing, and circumscribed by the red lines numbered respectively 1, 2, 3, and 4.
On the lower half of the sides is a sunken arched panel, containing a design or ornament formed of small squares or diamonds surrounding some leaves, marked 13 on the drawing, and circumscribed by the red lines marked a, I), 0, (Z, and e.
Above this, on the same portion of the sides, are triangular panels of squares or diamonds, marked C on the drawing, and circumscribed by red lines. These are also on the front, below the doors.
The dome, marked D, is arched and tinted, and the urn upon it is also fluted, marked E on the drawing.
The top plate that binds the stove together, marked F, is octagon, with a plain quarter-round head.
The base, marked G, is a plain piece, with a quarter-round bead surrounding it.
The lower corners of the stove are quarter round, and broken into courses. The upper portions of the corners are octagon. The baclcis a plain piece.
I do not claim the design of the fender.
Claim.
What I claim as my invention, and desire to secure by Letters Patent of the United States, is- The design of the whole stove, substantially as shown and described in the specification and drawings.
