DESIGN FOR A BOTTLE.

SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 30,474, dated .April 4, 1899. Application filed February 20, 1899. Serial No.706,263. Term oi patent 14 years.

To all wil/0m, it may concern:

lle it known that we, JOHN M. KNADLER and WILLIAM B. LUoAs,citizens of the United States, residing at Louisville, in the county of Jefferson and State of Kentucky, have invented and produced a new and original Design for Bottles; and we do hereby declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the same, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, forming a part thereof.

This invention relates to a novel design for bottles, and the leading features of which consist of angular sides and a flat face, as well as a flat back, a straight neck, a band encircling the neck, and a flaring month.

The annexed drawings, to which reference is inade, illustrate our design, in which- Figure l represents a perspective View of our design, and Fig. l is a bottom view of the same.

Referring by letter to the accompanying drawings, A designates the bottle, the leading features of which are the angular sides a a and b l). These sides, as shown in the bottom View, Fig. 2, are inclined downwardly and outwardly and beginning at the point c, the line of which inclines to a point CZ. Thenee from said point Il the inclination is downwardly and inwardly to the point e, presenting a short fiat surface. The continuous line forming the rear of the bottle presents a lat surface, thelongitudinallinef meeting the inclined line or short side angle b at the point h, whence said line b extends outwardly and upwardly to the point 1', thence inwardly and upwardly to the pointj, where the short horizontal line g extends to the point c of beginning.

It will be observed by reference to Fig. 2 that both sides of the bottle are alike, and our design comprises long and short angular side surfaces, the front having a short horizontal surface and the rear a long horizontal surface, and that all these parts, inclined and horizontal, present flat surfaces.

The bottle as viewed in Fig. l presents inclined surfaces 7o l fm, which meet the lower portion of the neck of the bottle and represent the upper portion or top of the bottle. The neck, as shown in Fig. 1, has a band encircling the same at the lower portion thereof, while the upper portion presents a flaring mouth.
