Description

OR D29o536 DESIGN.
Patented Oct. 25, |898 C. 8. BROWN.
SLIVER STOPPING AND GUIDING SPOON.
[Application filed Sept. 80, 1898.]
UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
CHARLES R. BROWN, OF NEWTON, MASSACHUSETTS.
DESIGN FOR A SLIVER STOPPING AND GUIDING SPOON.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 29,536, dated October 25, 1898. Application filed September 30, 1898. Serial No. 692,348. Term of patent 14 years.
To all whom it may concern.-
Be it known that I, CHARLES R. BROWN, of Newton, in the county of Middlesex and State of Massachusetts, have invented and produced a new and Original Design for Sliver Stopping and Guiding Spoons,of which the following is a specification,'reference being bad to the accompanying drawings, forming a part thereof.
Figure l of the drawings is a right-side-up perspective view of a stopping and sliver-guiding spoon, showing my new design. Fig. 2 is a view similar to that of Fig. l, .but showing the spoon in reversed or upside-down position. Fig. 3 is a side view of the same arranged in horizontal position.
As shown in the drawings, the leading feature of my design consists of the downwardly curved or rounded sides a of the shank b and the lugs c 0, extending downward parallelly from the front ends of the downwardly-curved sides, and the lugs d d, which likewise extend downward parallelly from the rear ends of the said sides. Theinner surface 6 of the shank b and sides a conforms to the form of the outer surface.
The spoon proper has its upper edges ff rounded, and the sides of the spoon are turned upward parallelly, while the bottom of the spoon both outside and inside is rounded on concentric lines. The end of the shank b is upturned, as desired.
Having explained the design produced by me, I declare that what I claim is The design for a sliver stopping and guiding spoon, as herein shown and described.
In testimony whereof I have signed my name to this specification, in the presence of two subscribing witnesses, this 11th day of July, A. D. 1898.
