DESIGN FOR A GAS STOVE OR HEATER.

SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 29,238, dated August 16, 1898.

Application filed May 25, 1898. Serial No. 681,749. Term of patent '7 years.

Be it known that I, SAMUEL W. MARTIN, a citizen of the United States,residin g at Springfield, in the county of Clark and State of Ohio, have invented and produced a new and original Design for Gas Stoves or Heaters, of which the followingisaspecification,reference being had therein to the accompanying drawings.

This invention has reference to a new and useful design for gas stoves or heaters.

Figure 1 represents afront elevation, and Fig. 2 an end elevation, of the same.

The leading feature of my design consists of a casing having an opening in its front in the form of an arch, through which appear perpendicular columns, each of which has an annular ornamentation.

The letter A represents a base having vertical faces B, O, and D, respectively, extending entirely around said base. An outwardlycurved surface E joins with the faces B and O and an inwardly-curved surface F joins with the faces 0 and D. These surfaces E and F also extend entirely around the base. Upon each corner is placed a corner ornament G, which is of such a contour as to match said faces and said surfaces. These end ornaments project from the upper surface of legs H, as shown on the drawings. Upon the upper surface of the base is mounted the casing I, which has an opening in its front side having rounded or curved corners. Through this opening appear three columns J, having annular ornalnentations consisting of annular beads K, annular grooves L, and an annular band M. surmounted upon the casing I is a crown N, having an upper and lower vertical face, the latter of which is scalloped, as shown at 0. These faces are connected by an outward-curved surface P. This surface and these faces extend entirely around this crown, the crown being in the form of a rectangle, with its upper face within and above its lower face. Upon its corners and conforming with the outward curved surface and with the faces appear ornaments Q. In each of these corner ornaments appear heads of screws. A top, pyramidal in form, extends upward from the crown N and has a cylindricalshaped cresting R along its upper edge. From this cylindrical-shaped cresting extend rounded ends S, each of which has an annular projection T.

Referring again to the casing I, it will be seen that there is a projection from near its upper end, at the rear thereof, as shown atU in Fig. 2.

Having thus fully described my invention, what I claim is- The design for a gas stove or heater herein shown and described.
