Description

8450 AU EX DESIG N. Na. 29.162. Patented Aug. 2, I898. E. P. BUREN.
TROUSERS PROTECTOR.
(Application filed Apr. 27, 1898.,
UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
ELMER P. BUREN, OF SANTA ANA, CALIFORNIA.
DESIGN FOR A TRO USERS-PROTECTOR.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 29,162, dated August 2, 1898.
Application filed April 2'7, 1898. Serial No. 679,041. Term of patent 14 years.
To all whom it may concern.-
Be itknown that I, ELMER I. BUREN, a citizen of the United States, residing at Santa Ana, in the county of Orange and State of California, have invented and produced a new and original Design for 'lrousers-lroteeters, of which the following isa specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, forming part thereof.
Figure 1 is a side elevation of a trousersproteotor, showing my new design. Fig. 2 is an elevation of said tronsers-protector viewed at right angles to Fig. 1. Fig. 3 is an elevation of said trousers-protector looking in the opposite direction. Fig. 4: is a sectional elevation on line at it, Figs. 2, 3, and 5. Fig. 5 is a plan of said trousers-protector.
As shown in the drawings, the leading or material feature of my design consists of an apron or body-piece 15, rounded at its lower end and swelling toward the upper end and at such upper end inerginginto a band A, which extends around the top of the apron and the ends of which are eontinuations of the edges of the apron and, together with the outwardlyswelling limbs Z) of the apron, form blunt laterally-extemling arms 1. 2. The protector is of such shape that when viewed in side elevation its outline is semibell-shaped with the mouth upward, as shown in Fig. 1, excepting that the band forms an acute angle with the outline of the body on one side, as at ()n the-other sidetlie outline of the body is a line of beauty. The opening 0 of the protector is substantially pear-shaped in appearance when the protector is viewed in rear elevation, as shown in Fig. 3, or in plan, as shown in Fig. 5, the pear shape of said opening in the elevation of said protector being more elongate than in the plan.
llaving described my invention, what I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is
The design for a trousers-protector substantially as herein shown and described.
ELMER l. RUBEN.
