DESIGN FOR A BADGE.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 27,373, dated. July 20, 1897.
Application filed June 9, 1897. Serial No 640,076 Term of patent 7 years.
To all whonb it may concern:
lie it known thatl, CHARLEs (it. DARLING, aeitizen of the United States, residing at Providence, in the State of Rhode Island ha \'e invented a new and original Design for :1 Badge or Charm, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawing.
In the drawing the figure represents the front View of a badge or charm embodying my design.
The leading features of my design consist in the representation of a curved log of wood with an ax and beetle resting upon the log with their handles crossing each other from the inner curved side of the log, the crossing of the handle being covered by a leaf and having an inwardly-directed wedge resting upon the middle portion of the log.
In the drawing, A represents the front plate of a badge, pin, or charm having at its upper side the representation of a curved log (1, upon which are placed the beetle-head b and ax e, the handles (Z and e of which are ari ranged in a direction to eross each other from the inner curved side of the log, the crossing of the handles (1 and e of the beetle and ax being covered by the representation of a leaf f. l'pon the middle portion of the 1oga,between the beetle 1) and ax c, is represented the inwardly-direeted wedge g, which either may or may not be provided at its head g with the eye It.
