PERCY E. MATTIIES, OF PHILADELPHIA, PENNSYLVANIA.
DESIGN FOR A BICYCLE-ALARM.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 25,880, dated August 4, 1896.
Application file-(l February 26, 1896. Serial No. 580,920. Term of patent 14 years.
To all whom it may concern.-
Be it known that I, PERCY E. MAT'rHEs, a citizen of the United States, residingat Philadelphia, in the county of Philadelphia and State of Pennsylvania, have invented and produced a new and original Design for Bicycle-Alarms; and I do declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the same, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, forming a part thereof.
My device consists in the configuration given to the alarm, substantially as hereinafter described.
Figure 1 is a side view of said alarm, and Fig. 2 is a top view.
Similar letters of reference indicate like parts.
The inner portion of the alarm A is ringshaped, having the interior 1 thereof flat and the exterior 2 rounded. At substantially equal distances apart appear bell-shaped portions B, extending radially from the said inner portions, the width of the bell-shaped portions being much greater than that of the ring-shaped portions. The bell-shaped portions appear to stand at a little distance from the ring-shaped portion, and with the narrow parts of the former nearest the ring-shaped portion. Between each of the bell-shaped portions and the rounded portion of the ringshaped portion appear the parts C of greater length than width.
I claim as my invention- The design for a bicycle-alarm substantially as shown and described.
In testimony whereof I ailix my signature in presence of two witnesses.
PERCY E. MATTHES. 'Witnesses:
GEo. W. REED, MARK WILKs COLLET.
