DESIGN FOR A DESK-CABINET.

SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 25,733, dated June 30, 1896.

Application filed February 15, 1896. Serial No. 579,460. Term of patent 14 years.

To all whom it may concern:

Be itknown that I, FRANK S. THOMAS, a citizen of the United States of America, residing at Topeka, in the county of Shawnee and State of Kansas, have invented and produced a new and original Design for Desk-(labinets; and I do hereby declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the same, reference being had to the accompanying d rawings, forming a part thereof.

In the drawings, Figure 1 is a front elevation showing my newly-designed desk-cabinet with the drawers and upper case or desk closed, and Fig. 2 is a perspective View with a number of the drawers partially withdrawn and the upper case open.

The design comprises in part a base-section A, the front of which presents three vertical strips a, a, and at, having moldings at their ends and intervening reedin gs, as shown, said strips being connected at their upper ends by a ledge e beveled. at its edges, and at their lower ends by plain base'pieces a. The strips or moldings a, a, and c are also con nected by transverse strips which form two vertical series of spaces for drawers, the drawers of one series being of a different size than those of the other. The sides of the base-section A are paneled, while the back (not shown) is preferably plain.

The upper section of the desk-cabinet consists of paneled side pieces Z1, with reediugs at their forward edges, a top I) presenting moldings and reedings, as shown, and vertitieal and transverse partitions forming veriieal spaces and pigeou-holes which are closed by a door ll, supported at its lower end between the side pieces b, and provided on its front side with vertical panels, while its inner side is left plain to serve as a desk or writingsurface. The upper section 13 is finished oil with a molding b attached to the forward edge of the top I), and of the configuration shown in the accompanying illustration.

The door B is provided with a catch at its upper end, and the drawers are each provided with drawer-pulls centrally located.

The desk-cabinet herein illustrated and described is for the same purpose as the one shown and described in my prior Design Patent dated May 15, 1888, and numbered 18,322, the present design presenting a different arrangenient and ornamentation.
