DESIGN FOR A PICTURE-FRAME MOLDING.

SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 25,217, dated March 3, 1896.

Application tiled January 31, 1896. Serial No. 577,628. Term of patent 3l years.

To all whom, t may concern;

13e it` known that I, UIIAIfzLEs Boswon'rn, a citizen of. the United States, and a resident of lrooklyn, in the county of Kings and State of New York, have invented and produced a new and original Design for Picture-Frame Moldings and the Like, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawing, formin g part thereof.

The essential features of my design consist in the configuration of the frame and the surface ornamentation thereon composed of conventionally-represented leaves, substantially as illustrated herein.

The ornamentation of the moldings A and B is as follows, which in the case of the Inciding A consists of concave leaves D, conventionally represented, and the flowers or bunches of flowers c and the foliated figures or ornaments (l arranged thereon, as shown in the accompanying drawing, all of which are in relief, the concave and conventionally-represented leaves running along and parallel with the sides of the frame or molding. The surface of the molding B is ornainented with aline of conventionally-represented leaves c and the foliated figures g, arranged snbstan tially as shown in the drawing.

At the corner or corners of the frame or molding there is an ornamentation, as at D,

with the foliated ornaments or figures plaecd therein, as shown at 11. The ornament l), which .is concave, represents a bunch el' radiatinglcaves which project upwardly and inwardl y toward the center of the frame or molding. The bunch of radiating leaves enables the concave leaves which connect the line of couventionally-represented leaves and flowers and foliatcd Iigures to terminate with good effect at the circular or more or less circular leafy representation at the corner, giving point to the foliated ornaments placed in the circular or partly circular leafy representation at the corner or corners.

The edge of the Inolding is oruamented, as shown at r, with an unbroken line of foliated figures.
