DESIGN FOR A GLASS VESSEL.
SPECIFICATION forming pert of Design No. 24,511, dated July 30, 1895. Application filed June 3, 1895. Serial No. 551,578. Term of patent 8% years.
To all whom it may concern.-
Be it known that I, JAMES D. BERGEN, of* Hartford, in the county of Hartford and State of Connecticut, have invented a new Design for the Ornamentation of Glass Vessels; and I do hereby declare the following, when taken in connection with the accompanying drawings and the letters of reference marked thereon, to be a full, clear, and exact description of to the same, and which said drawings constitute part of this specification, and represent, in
Figure 1, a plan view of the vessel; Fig. 2, a vertical central section thereof.
I This invention-relates to a design for the i5 ornamentation of glass vessels; and the tie-- sign consists in the configuration and ornamentation as hereinafterdescribed, and shown in the accompanying illustrations.
As herein shown, the bowl is ornamented by eight deep radial grooves F, extending downward from the upper edge to the base of the ho wl. From the outer ends of these grooves and extending therefrom to the outer end of the groove on the opposite side are curved grooves A, arranged in pairs, forming four ellipses interseotin g each other, forming an octagonal base upon which is a many-pointed star B, in the center of which is a. second smaller star. The space D, between the upper ends of the grooves F, is of fan shape and scalloped at its upper edge, forming the upper con figuration of the bowl. Concentrically around the waist of the bowl is a groove C, which intersects the grooves A at the point where the grooves A intersect each other to form the point of the fan-like ornamentation -D. The surface of the triangles E, between the upper ends of the radial grooves F,annnlar groove 0, and groovesA is hatched, and in the angular spaces below the fan ornaments D are inverted fan-like figures G, all as shown in the accompanying illustrations.
I claim- The design for the ornamentation of glass vessels, as herein shown and described.
In testimony whereof I have signed this specification in the presence of two subscribing witnesses.
