DESIGN FOR WOVEN FABRIC.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 23,837, dated December 4, 1894.
Application filed October 29, 1894. Serial No. 527,368. Term of patent 7 years.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, JOHN B. MORGAN, a citizen of the United States, residing in Philadel-' phia, Pennsylvania, haveinvented a certain Design for Ticking and other Woven Fabrics, of which the following is a specification.
My design for ticking or similar woven fabrie, is illustrated in the accompanying drawin g, which shows twoc'omplete sets of stripes.
The essential feature of this design is the tinted back ground having the prominent .wideand narrow stripes alternating with each other and the heronhone effect found in the narrow stripe.
vD is the tinted back ground, E the wide stripe and F the narrow stripe. The wide stripe is somewhat darker than the back ground and has a series of very narrow light stripes e alternating with very narrow dark stripes e. Running through the dark stripes are light dots giving the effect clearly shown in the drawing.
The narrow stripe F consists ofa bentral dark stripe f and two stripes f f "on each side of the dark stripe and each stripe f is made up of a series of inclined-transverse stripes and separated from the dark stripe by verynarrow stripes 1' giving the boron bone eflect mentioned above.
