DESlGN FOR A SPOON OR FORK HANDLE.
SPECIFICATION forming part Of Design No. 21,633, dated June 21, 1892.
Application filed March 7, 1892. Serial No. 424,086. Term of patent 3% years.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, GEORGE W. SHIEBLER, a citizen of the United States, residing at Brooklyn,in the county of Kings and State of New York, have invented and produced a new and original Design for Spoon or Fork Handies, of which the followingis a specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawing, forming part thereof.
My design is represented by elevations of the front and back.
The leading features of my design consist in the design of an ornamental cross, the design of a. relief loosely-robed or ecclesiastical figure of a man and the design of an eagle, which design portions constitute the main features in the ornamental handle.
In the design of the ornamental cross, a is the stem of the ornamental cross, and b the scroll-pattern arms to the same. The outer end a of the stem a is of circular configuration, and adjacent to the parts I) and a is the flower ornament c.
In the design of the ornamental cross the back of the stem (1 is shown with fleur-de-lis ornaments d and scroll ornaments d on a plain ribbed background.
e is the design of the relief loosely-robed or ecclesiastical male figure holdingacup, while at the feet of this figure, at f, is the design representing an eagle. Scroll designs It and a leaf design 2' are also shown below the figure and cross.
In the drawing I have indicated by dotted lines the outline of the bowl of a spoon and the tines of a fork.
My new and original design for a spoon or fork handle is emblematic as asouvenir of the Episcopal Cathedral of St. John, the Beloved Disciple.
What I claim is The design of the ornamental shape and configuration of the spoon or fork handle, substantially as shown and set forth.
