DESIGN FvoR A TOY.
SPECIFICATION forming part of :Design o. 20,187, dated October 7, 1890.

Be it known that I, OARLETON E. HERRICK,
a citizen of the United States, residing at Marinette, in the county of Marinette and State of Wisconsin, have invented a new and original Design for Toys, of which the following is a specification.
My design consists, essentially, of a ball the surface of which is ornamented by stripes and the top and bottom provided with disks having scalloped edges and circular bands to correspond With the stripes on the ball.
In the accompanying drawings, Figure l is a view looking perpendicular to the axis of the ball. Fig. 2 is a view of one end of the ball.
Referring to the drawings, C represents a ball, which is ornamented with the parallel stripes c and c', of different colors. At the top and bottom of the ball-that is, at the top and bottom of the axis of the stripes-are disks D, which have ornamental scalloped edges and circular bands d and d', corresponding to the stripes c and c', the whole giving a neat and ornamental appearance that is pleasing to the eye.
Having thus described my design, what I claim,and desire to secure by Design Letters Patent, is=
The design for a toy, herein described and shown, consisting of aball the surface of which is divided by a series of ornamental stripes, and the two ends of which at the opposite terminals of the axis of the stripes are ornamented with disks provided with scalloped edges and divided by circular bands to correspond with the stripes.
In testimony that I claim the foregoing as my own I have hereto aflixed my signature in presence of two witnesses.
