HENRY O. SCHMIDT, OF NElV YORK, N. Y., ASSIGNOR TO SIMONS, BROTHER & 00., OF PHILADELPHIA, PENNSYLVANIA.
DESIGN FOR A CANE OR UMBRELLA HANDLE.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 19,941, dated June 24, 1890.
Application filed April 15, 1890. Serial No. 348,117- Tcrm of patent 3% years.
To all whom it may concern.-
Be it known that I, HENRY 0. SCHMIDT, a citizen of the United States, residing in New York, in the county and State of New York, have invented and produced a new and original Design for Cane or Umbrella Handles, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawing, forming part thereof.
In the drawing is shown a side elevation of a cane or umbrella handle illustrating my new design.
Ais the body part, and is formed with curved walls increasing outward as we ascend, and surmounted with a cap B of plain surface,
having a curved or annular swelling boundary C, formed in the shape of depending leaves by suitable ornamentation. Between the part C and the body part A is an annular band D of ornamental work.
F is the base part, and consists of a large band of ornamental work bounded on the top by a smaller band G of plain surface and on the bottom by a small cylindrical band H of plain surface.
The body part A is ornamented by having alternate vertical bars of plain surface I and ornamental work E, and in which the plain surface I is depressed to a slight extent.
