JAMES M. TAPPEN, OF NEW YORK, N. Y., ASSIGNOR TO DUNHAM, BUCKLEY la OO., OF SAME PLACE.
DESIGN FOR TRIMMING.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 19,300, dated September 3, 1889.
Application led February 13, 1889. Serial No. 299,742, 'ller-u1 of patent 3% years.
To aZZ whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, JAMES M. TAPPEN, a Citizen of the United States, residing in the city, county, and State of New York, have invented and produced a new and original Design for Trimmings, of which the following is :elI specification.
The design is shown in the accompanying drawing, which forms a. part of this specifica.- t-ion, and which represents a face view of a piece of braid or trimming having my new design.
The longitudinal central portion of the trimming presents a series of parallel cross-paralel logrammic gures a, each of which presenten series of parallel twisted-cord-like figures b, crosswise of the trimming. Alternating be tween these figures a are a series of plain or blockdike paralellogrammic figures d, representingnn interwoven band-like filling within the trimming. The borders of the trimming present a surface ornamentation of a. longitudinnl serpentine-like figure e. These borders are in the form of longitudinal bands on each side of the longitudinal central portion of the trimming.
I claim- The Within-described design for a. braid or trimming, substantially as represented inthe accompanying drawing.
