SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 17,164, dated March 8,1887.

To all whom it may concern.-

Be it known that I, ELLIsoN L. BRAINARD, of East Hampton, in the county of Middlesex and State of Connecticut, have invented and produced anew and original Design for Bells for Sleighs, 85c, ofwhich the following is a specification.

This design relates to the exteriorshape and configuration of the bell, as shown in the accompanying drawing.

The top or crown of the bell is a dome, at 0!, extending down at the sides, with a reverse curve or ogee, as at b. The sides 0 are nearly straight, and the rim d is also nearly cylindrical, and the curve or cove e is between the parts 0 d. This configuration of hell is highly Serial No. 226,571. Term of patent 7 years.

ornamental and neat in appearance, especially where several are grouped together, as in a row of sleigh-bells.

I claim The design fora slciglrhell having the shape or configuration shown, consisting in the design of the dome-shaped and ogee top, the nearly straight sides and rim, and the cove between the sides and rim, substantially as de 25 scribed and represented.
