DESIGN FOR A CARPET.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 15,540, dated November 11, 1884.
A pplicntion filed September 0, 1884. Term of patent 3% years.
T0 at whom, it may concern.-
Be it known that I, ARTHUR L. HALLIDAY, a resident of New York city, in the county and State of New York, have invented and pro dnced anew and original Design for a Carpet,
of which the following is a full description, in connection with the accompanying photograph, which represents a face view of in y new design fora carpet.
This invention relates to a new ornamentation of the face of a carpet, oil-cloth, or analogous fabric; and it consists in the novel grouping and outlines of figures hereinafter described.
In the photograph, the letter A represents a large fanciful leaf with rosette-like borders and spear-shaped projecting ornaments a, said figure being connected with groups of rosettes B B. Between these groups of rosettes there is another ornamental leaf, 0, having fanciful projecting ornaments 6.
Figures A B C a b are contained within the principal band or stripe of the carpet, said carpet having other bands, I), E, F, and G, as shown.
