DESIGN FOR A FIRE-PLACE.

SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 13,369, dated September 19, 1882.

Term of patent 7 years.

To all whom it may concern.-

Be it known that I, WILLIAM 'LWEEDDALE, of Brooklymin the county of Kings and State nt New York, have invented a. Design for Fire Places and Grates,of which the following is a specification.

This design, which includes the lreplace frame, grate, and fender, is composed chieliy of round ornaments, checkered or crosshar or- 1o nements, and leallet ornaments, forming as a whole an artistic appearance somewhat resembling Egyptian architecture.

The fender has a base, a, with beveled np per surface, ai row of circular and ieaet ornament-s, b, a. central ornament, c, with curved edges and ornamentai surface, as shown. The corner-pieces d of the fender are checkered cross-hars, with central and corner ornaments, as shown. The scroll e and har fand castelzo lated work g l'orln the edge ol' the fender, and there are leaflet-scrolls h at each side ot' the central ornament, c. A round rail, l, with coni cal ornaments and collars, forms the top of the fender, and there is a central piece, m, with diamond Surface ornaments, as shown.

The lire-place frame has corner ornaments, d', generally similar to the ornaments d; also, a har, n, across the top, with conical and collar ornaments. The checker ornaments at o 3o are on the surface of the frame. The lire-place frame has projecting bases at p, above which rise the round ornaments q, with the bands and the elliptical and conical shapes shown, and there are stems with round ornaments at r. The surface of the frame is paneled with leaflet surface ornaments, as shown.

The grate-frame has the ornamental front bars, s, side posts and top ornaments. t, as represented, and a. back with a row ofornaments, u. a central square frame, zc, inclined .to side pediment at o, and angle ornaments m, as shown.

I claim as my invention- 1. The design of the fender, composed of the checker ornaments d, circles, scrolls, and leafiets, and the round bars with collars and ornaments, substantially as shown.

2. The design ofthe lire-place frame, composed of the checker ornaments d', bars, round ornaments with collars, and the stems, panels, 5o and leatlet ornaments, substantially as shown.

25. The design of the grate-frame, composed of the front bars, side posts, and back, ornalnented substantially as shown.
