To all whom it may concern:
Be itknown that I, THEODORE ABBOTT, of the city and county of Philadelphia, in the State of Pennsylvania, have invented and produced a new and original Design for Fringe, of which design thefollowing, is a specification.
The accompanying drawing is a side view of a section of fringe embodying and illustrating my design, which consists in a fringe, having a heading, A, to which is attached a series of chenille pendants, B, ornamented by the following arrangement of colors in the threads of which they are composed, to wit: A portion, b-say about one-halfof the length of the pendant-is made up of a series of stripes, belts, or bands, of two or more difl'erent colors, so arranged or distributed as to present a substantially-uniform general ett'ect throughout the length of the portion b. lhe remaining portion, b, is made up of a, series of stripes, belts,
or bands which differ materially in appearance from the stripes of the portion 1), such difference being effected either by the use of difii-rent colors or by making the stripes of ditferent width, or both, the result of which is to present by the stripes of the portion 0 thcappearance or eli'ect of a variegated border or trieze upon the fringe.
I claim A design for fringe, consisting of pendants which for a portion of their length are striped, banded, or belted in a uniform general series, and for the remainder of their length are striped, banded, and belted so as to present a distinctively-difi'erent appearance from the first-named portion, substantially as set forth.
